Will these protect her from strong kicks from a bigger person?** A: Where I train no girl got injured and we have these Thaipads and other cheaper. It depend a lot of your standing position and how you grab the pads. If you don't hold the pads correctly you will get injured. But these pads are very well made and big enough to stop any kick. And they are very tight at the beginning but they got a bit softer with the time. Good training! **Q: Is there any issue with the Velcro wearing out, losing its adhesivness?** A: Absolutely not. The velcro is top notch. **Q: so, if i order these, they come in a pair????** A: Not necessarily. I only got one and amazon is making me ship the order back if i want the other one. Really? The leading brand of thai pads for decades running? They just say that the recommend keeping the product away from moisture.I will PERSONALLY recommend using Neatsfoot oil (or whatever else you use on leather). A TEENY bit goes a long way. Every couple of months probably -- a really small amount, and follow the directions as for any other leather product.So IF YOU BUY THIS -- GET SOME NEATSFOOT OIL (or other leather maitnenance oil that's used for baseball gloves or anything else) -- IT WILL KEEP IT IN GREAT SHAPE.Anyway, Pros and Cons:Cons:-No recommendation for oils for maintenance -- I chose to ignore that and use neatsfoot oil-A bit heavy, but that's surely to be expected here-Velcrow technology -- but to be fair, I don't know what even would work better.
