This item was a gift for my sister-in-law, who had read these books with her father when she was younger. He has since passed away, and the set of books he gave her was missing one, while the others were becoming worn. She was extremely happy to receive this set to reread so that she can preserve, as much as possible, the ones she received from her father. Although I am an avid reader, this isn't my type of book, so I am taking her word, and the word of one of my brothers, that this an an excellent series, well worth reading. The complete set was a good value. I am pleased with my purchase, especially because she was so pleased to receive it. Thank you.

Almost perfect as the 5th book needs a jacket, but the seller said as much. I finally have my set.

I first read these books while assigned to the DEW Line and the location added to the realism Mrs. Auell so beautifully wove into her "Earth's Children" series. At the time only the first book was out and available but I fell totally in love with the era and the tribe of Neanderthals and their love for Ayla, the child that was so different from themselves. To me, it was a pathway for our own society to live with all the diversity of humans on Earth. But to my surprise one evening when saying my prayers I visualized God as the Mother and from that point on God has forever been both a Mother and Father to me. I wrote Jean a letter telling her how much I enjoyed her novel and she replied with the nicest thank you letter. I purchased these for my Grandchildren and I hope they get the same enjoyment and conceptions of mankind's potential.

Wife loves then and she can't stop reading them she is on the last book already and says she will probably read through then again.

I'm glad I could get the whole series (although there's talk of an eighth book, but I'm not sure). The books are pretty well made, although I do wish it had a cardboard container like other book collections have. But not at all a bad buy!

Purchased these as my summer read. Loving the journey. Well written. So much detail of geographical landscapes making me wonder if these places are real.
