Versatile Thin-Line Hollw Body Guitar
~ This is a re-issue of a classic guitar. Jazz fans will recognize the guitar as the one that Grant Green used throughout most of his recording career. Rock fans will recognize the guitar as the one that many British artists used, including the Beatles (although they mostly used the much less expensive Epiphone equivalent called “The Cassino”, rather than the Gibson ES330.) ~ The body is a true hollow body, meaning that it does not have a beam running through the body from the neck to the tail of the guitar like the ES 335 does. The absence of the beam provides the 330 with a warmer, more “wooden” sound than the Gibson semi-hollow body guitars that have similar body styling. The absence of the beam also makes the guitar considerably lighter than the semi-hollow Gibson cousins. Of course, the fact that the guitar is thinner than typical fat body arch top guitars means the sound is not as mellow or full as the so-called jazz box guitar. ~ The P90 pickups have a wonderful full sound. ~ The neck is narrow, in the tradition of 1960's Gibson guitars. This makes chord playing easier, but you have to be extremely accurate in the placement of your fingers to avoid touching the wrong strings during single-note playing and the formation of chords. The fretboard is rosewood, which adds to the warmth of the tone. The neck is joined to the body at the 16th fret, which may or may not impact your playing depending on how much you play up the neck and how high you go. ~ The workmanship, binding, finish, etc are all excellent. ~ Recommended for rock, blues, and maybe for some jazz.

Five Stars
Great guitar, but it's a hollow body--not a semi-hollow body as indicated in the item heading.
