Been painting for several years as a hobby. Started out using the typical cheap brushes from the store, as most amateurs probably start with. Over time I splurged on a few high end brushes just to see the difference. And the smoothness of the strokes and flow is very different once you get a feel for it. A high quality brush does hold more paint and transfers to the medium more evenly. Problem is they are expensive, although they do last longer, still a bit too much for me if I wanted to have a set. I searched for a compromise between price and quality. And discovered it's not easy to find. Lots of advertised quality brushes lose their shape and bristles pretty quickly. Not much better than the store ones but more expensive. Now when I buy a "quality" brush I put it through a little test I deviced. These are the first brushes in this price range that "passed" my test. I admit it's not conclusive by any means, but these seem to be really good quality for a whole set that you could pay for just 1 brush. Just got them recently so can't say how they will hold up in time. For now they are the only affordable brushes I found that seem comparable to the expensive ones.

Good quality brushes and a nice case. Only problem is that the brushes may fall out if the case is held upside down. Good quality for the price.

The brushes are ok. They are a little long for my taste and the brushes were smaller than i wanted. In my other set of brushes, the size 4 was like the size 10 of this set.

These look great, feel great, and are MADE IN THE USA!!! After I ordered these, I got a confirmation from the AIT Products along with asking if there is anything they could do to help. Genuine customer service here, folks! This was a Christmas gift and I didn't want to post a premature review, but after a few months, they are awesome. You know how sometimes you give a gift and you don't want to be in the room when they open it because it was a dumb gift and you don't want to look like the fool who gave a dumb gift. This is NOT a dumb gift. When you see it, you'll want to be proudly standing next to the receiver as they open it and inspect the quality and variety of the brushes. They'll think you spent a million bucks (possible exaggeration). Awesome, simply awesome. I can't wait to get the other sets.

I expected these brushes to be high quality based on the reviews I've read but they are not absorbant and does not release water when painted with so for watercolor... It's completely useless and leaves scratchy lines.

Would be great for crafts and kids, however not the best product for more serious painting. I went through three of the smaller brushes very quickly. They split and would not move the paint well.

I liked the size of the carrying case because its small enough to toss in my purse on my way to the studio. The quality of the brushes are wonderful, paint just glides right on my canvas smoothly and the micro size brushes that are included are exactly the right addition to such a nice set of brushes. They are easy to clean and come with a satisfaction guarantee. Wish I had gotten these sooner.
