Direct Replacement for the Original Fluid from my Kit (bought elsewhere)
Glad I found this on Amazon. I haven't opened the bottle yet, but if it works as good as the stuff that came with my combustion leak kit (which I expect it will, since the bottles are identical), it will work like a charm and at half the price of ordering a replacement from the catalog. Make sure to test your results. That is, if a combustion leak ISN'T present judging by the lack of color change, exhale into the tube and see if the CO2 in your breath is enough to cause the blue to turn greenish-yellow. If not, then the chemical itself is faulty. The process I use is to let the car idle for about 5-10 minutes with the hood open, then get in and raise the RPMs to about 1200-1500 while in Park or in Neutral with the parking brake engaged. Then, I get out, open up the expansion tank cap, and a vacuum line to the engine, and use the vacuum to draw whatever gas is present in the expansion tank into my testing kit tube. I let it do that for about 2 minutes - if the color doesn't change, you're good to go.

Combine with OEMTOOLS 27145 Combustion Leak Detector, which comes with a case for the tester.
Delivery time okay. Did it's job. I was looking at the Block Tester BT-500 which provided the tester and fluid. But for the same price, I bought this fluid and the OEMTOOLS 27145 Combustion Leak Detector, which comes with a case for the tester for the same price. I confirmed I had a head gasket leak (light green rather than color changing all the way to yellow). After research on Youtube, I went with K-Seal Pour and Go. Took about 3x cycles of running the car with radiator at operating temperature, and then poof, my Check Engine light went out. From reviews, it seems you will get at least 10k-20k miles out of it, some claim never a problem again. If the problem does reappear, I will probably then try the K-Seal Ultimate gasket seal.

This is about the same price as other "OEM" brands, but you get twice as much. Use with OEM # 27145

Great fluid - make your own tester.
Excellent product at a low price. You can really fashion your own tester as long as you can find some materials that provide a vacuum, and it doesn't need to be a perfect vacuum either.... a rubber washer, some tubing from the hardware store, a plastic fast food cup, and something for suction. Just keep the test fluid reservoir away from the coolant tank. This simple test fluid helped me decide if I wanted to scrap the car or keep and repair it- and the car was a keeper! Of course, i unintentionally left the tester with exposed fluid in the garage for a couple of weeks, and could really see the color change from the ambient fumes.

Bottle was open and had leaked
The package arrived wet and the outside of the bottle was wet. The seal under the cap wasn't sealed. Regardless, there was enough product left to do a test. It's hard to tell if it's working unless it turns color, and mine didn't. So, I assume I'm all set.

The only brand we trust.
Over the years of using a block tester, I never thought there could be a difference in quality of the fluid being used. Make no mistake this fluid is the fast responding to combusting gasses. When compared to the competition out there this fluid out performs in every aspect. Good quality, easy to use, easy to store and it doesn’t leak.
