It works for its most important job
Our 'economy seven' electricity supply is used overnight to heat a lagged water cylinder fitted with an immersion heater. This thermostat is essential to turn off the circuit when the tank water temperature is high enough [if left on it would boil which is a rather scary event]. Thus it is important that it functions correctly and this does indeed switch off suitably. The reason for the four stars is that, for no reason I can trace, it sometimes trips its inconspicuous reset button which means we have a day without hot water until the button is pressed.

Really good thermostat for immersion heaters .
This thermostat is very easy to fit and can be easily set to the required temperature. From experience it is also very durable and lasts for many years,
