was hesitant to purchase this wind chime due to its cost, however I am very glad that I made the purchase. As described it is impressively large, deep-toned and visually stunning. It is well designed and constructed. The chime's six tubes are made of durable, thick-walled anodized aluminum and are specially suspended to achieve pure and impressive tones. They are “tuned”, that is the length of each tube is carefully calculated to create standing waves (at the predetermined resonant frequencies (harmonics). These full notes resonate for an extended period of time resulting in pleasant and relaxing tones produced by the ensemble of varied length (tuned) tubes. This is definitely a quality product.Needless to say I am extremely pleased with the Woodstock Windsinger 54 Inch Orpheus Wind Chime. Anyone that purchases this chime should be well pleased and will enjoy for many future years.

Hands down the best, most melodious chime I own. Has nice low tone to it and it resonates for a long time. I also have Woodstock Chime of Venus, Chime of Earth and Bells of Paradise and this one is the loudest and most beautiful sounding. Alone it is very full sounding, almost like you are listening to an orchestra. . .combined with other chimes it serves as a "base" on which other chimes are complemented. If you could only get one chime, this is the one to get. You can go directly to the Woodstock site and listen to the chime before buying.

These chimes have beautiful tone and rings to them. The bigger the better. Only reason I gave 4 star was for the lack of a nicer hanging mechanism. Instead of having a solid metal ring or hook for hanging, it's just the end of the rope itself pressure squeezed by a aluminum piece. And that small aluminum piece holds the entire weight of the chime.It's holding so far but I would have preferred something more secure and solid. That method of terminating the ropes also makes it not quite even when hanged.BUT IT SOUNDS GREAT!!! :-)

We bought these for our back deck not long ago. Where we live is occasionally pretty breezy so I was a bit concerned if the sound would be overwhelming. I specifically bought the larger wind chimes to have a more mellow, deeper tone (i.e., lower frequency). They are wonderful and we are thoroughly pleased; I would definitely recommend it. Buyer note though, they are quite long with the wind catcher so make sure you have a high spot that you can hang them from !

Mine arrived yesterday and while un boxing the first notes were just heavenly!!! The chimes are not only made very well but tuned to perfection I would recommend to anyone looking to purchase a wind chime. Other brands I have heard over the years do not sound anywhere near these and do not waste your money. You will love Woodstock Orpheus.One note mine is hung on my deck which gets some wind but these do need a brisk of wind to get them singing but once they do it seems to go on forever..

What can I say about the chimes other than I have to stop what I'm doing if I hear them and just listen. The sounds are extraordinary. When we first put them up in the fall, there were so many still days that we didn't hear the chimes. Once the weather changed a little, we started hearing them and they are just mesmerizing. Our neighbors love their sound as well. Not only would I recommend these chimes but I intend on buying more to put at the back of our house. The sound is just so soothing.

Sturdy and stunning at the same time. I love the mellow sounds of these chimes. It's not the high pitched "tinkling" sounds rather, they are deep and moody. The construction also stands up to strong winds and rain. I love it.

We don't normally have real strong winds, so most of the time it sounds like a gently stroked Tibetan singing bowl. Rarely is it very loud here, but of course that will depend on your own specific location. The dimension given in the description is from where it hangs, to the end of the paddle like object that catches the wind to make the center disc strike the chime tubes. I was initially disappointed that the chime tubes were not much longer, but the sound vindicated the chimes.

Wonderful chimes that ring with a fantastic quality of tone and resonate for a good while, they are very heavy tho, 7lb, and very long, about a metre. I've hung mine with a 10lb s-biner onto my washing line till I can find a better way to hang them... but I love them to bits, so relaxing..... You can listen to them and other Woodstock Chimes on you tube to choose a set you like but the bigger the better imho, forgot to say, these are hung on a metal ring and have a nicely finished, plastic ringer with a metal wind catcher.... no bits to rust or crack :D
