Great - GREAT little cooler ...
Wife wanted something basic to make Home Brewed Tea & then keep it cold & be able to take on a road trip & not to worry about spillage. She popped ICE into this cooler - popped the whole thing into the Fridge over night - made her tea - took the cooler out of the Fridge - emptied the old ice out which was kept in it over night with fresh ice - our Fridge makes ICE like crazy - thus - we're not ICE poor (LOL) ... & then poured in the Freshly Brewed Tea - works like a camp upto 6 odd hours ...

nah
cheap does the job, don't let it fall over because it leaks. will keep water cold all day with enough ice. I recommend spending a bit more and getting a stainless steel water jug if you plan on using this every day. less ice needed in a smaller footprint. Affordable.

keeps water cold!
Received the cooler yesterday. This morning I spent 4 hours on the golf course on a hot Washington DC day ... 77 degrees F at 7:30 am reaching 90 at 11 am. I am glad to say that opening the cooler at 12 in my kitchen, there were still ice cubes to keep the water cold. Also i drank many times during this round of golf and did not notice any leak. It is a very well designed and efficient cooler, large enough (1 gallon) to replace the golf course fountains which are all closed due to Covid Good job Coleman!

Large and heavy, but it does the job!
First off, let me say that anything made by Coleman is going to be high quality and do what it claims it will do. This jug is no exception. I only had two issues with it: 1.) It leaked every time I drank out of it. Not a major leak, but just enough to be irritating. 2.) It is HEAVY when filled. I consider myself a mostly strong person, but I found it difficult to left the jug when it was full. I am a woman, so a man might have an easier time transporting this. I also have back and neck issues, which make it difficult to lift while in a seated position. So, to imagine a heavy jug that is difficult to lift, and then having it leak on you, I assure you, something had to give. I moved on to a half gallon size Coleman jug, and it's perfect! This gallon jug would be better for a 2 or 3-person outing. I never drank the entire thing, even when working in extreme heat. It can accommodate two or more trays of ice (I only have 2, so that's the max I can use). I found that, when using one tray of ice, my water was no longer cold after about 4 hours. It is best to use this with 2-3 trays of ice cubes. :)

Gets the job done.
Many if not most of the reviews mention leaking. The only time I've had any leakage is if ice blocks the air hole. I've had no leaks from around the lid. Keeps drinks cold for hours with the proper amount of ice. Work in hot climate, water still cold after 9 hours. Can't beat the price. Would buy again. Handle seems flimsy however I've had no issues with it. Most temperature loss is through the lid, which isn't insulated. I've not used it for warm beverages.

I will admit that I probably look like and idiot hoisting this thing up in the air ...
I have been using this jug for a couple of weeks now and it meets my expectations. I had a minor leak here or there the first few days, but I found that this occurs only when the seal is wet when the top is screwed on. I just make sure it's dry when I screw on the lid and there are no leaks. You can't beat the price to have iced water (or whatever drink you prefer) readily available at all times. Quit wasting your money on bottled water! Plus, I found that if you fill it with a bunch of ice and water, it takes longer than 24 hours for the ice to melt completely. I will admit that I probably look like and idiot hoisting this thing up in the air for a refreshing swig, but oh well. I probably look like an idiot with or without this thing.

Great for marching band!
I got this for my child for marching band. It is a great product. Keeps his water cold and him hydrated. Definitely recommend for hot days and long rehearsals.

What's not to love?
It holds a gallon, and keeps it hot or cold. Lid screws on tightly. What's not to love? amending down from 5 stars. the lid is not water tight. No matter how much you tighten it, without an O ring or something similar, liquid will work it's way through the threading, and drip, when you pour, or drink from the bottle. I use this for ice water when I work outside.... several drops of water falling on my shirt while I'm mowing a lawn or weeding is harmless. But for a product designed and sold on the basis of holding liquids? One would expect it to be of better quality. YES, my ice water stays cold (and depending how much ice is in it, icy) for hours, even over night. The insulation this offers is fantastic. But being unable to pour beverage without dripping on tables, or sip from it without it dripping down your shirt, goes from a little annoying, to infuriating, in very little time.
