Well Worth the Price. Great Smell. Great Lather. Leaves Hair Soft and Lustrous!
I bought this shampoo as a treat for my birthday. I can only say how glad I did. My hair is chin length cut into layers and is wavy/curly. At times my hair is not as soft and smooth as I would like it to be. I read about this shampoo and the customer reviews and knew that although this is a bit more expensive than the shampoo, I would buy it and give it a go. This has a rich lather (a little goes a long way), has a clean smell, and truly leaves your hair squeaky clean. I condition after shampoo (remembering to concentrate on the mid and ends of the hair) and blew it dry. My hair is soft and has a healthy luster. I am so pleased that I bought this and recommend it.

Fantastic shampoo, worth every penny!
Seriously fantastic shampoo for us curly girls. Cannot say enough good things; even after trying dozens of shampoos over the years and spending all sorts of $$, this is the best!

One of the best shampoos for damaged or bleached hair!
I have medium-to-thick, bleached, and compromised hair, and this shampoo truly made a difference. The texture is creamy, it doesn’t dry out the scalp, and after rinsing, my hair feels softer, stronger, and visibly healthier. It’s not just surface-level shine — it feels like it’s actually restoring the hair from within. I love that it’s free from harsh sulfates and contains Alpha Keratin 60ku, a patented protein that seems to genuinely help repair damage. I use it on days when I’m not applying K18, and paired with the Virtue Recovery Mask, the results are amazing. If you have color-treated, dry, or damaged hair — this is worth the investment. Pricey, yes, but 100% worth it for the results

The best shampoo for damaged hair
I love the Virtue brand! This shampoo is my absolute favorite for my naturally curly, color treated hair. It smells so good and leaves my hair feeling soft and smooth.

Good, but not as amazing as the hype
I expected more from the VIRTUE Recovery Shampoo because there’s so much hype around it online and from celebrities. It’s a good shampoo, but it’s not my favorite for frizzy hair. One thing to know: for the best results you really have to emulsify it first (rub it between your palms until it gets foamy) before applying it to your hair. It does make a difference. Overall, decent, but not a must-have for me.

One use and I noticed a difference!
I very rarely give in to Hollywood hype on products. Mostly because, I can't usually afford them. But when I saw that Nicole Kidman used this because Anne Hathaway used it, and they both have amazing hair, I gave in. It's affordable so I didn't stress about that. I will admit, I'm obsessed with hair products. Moreso now that I'm mid 50's and I finally hit the meno, and yes, my hair changed overnight and started thinning...big time. In one use this morning, I totally noticed a difference. And I'm not just saying that. My hair is so soft. All the crazy grey hairs were subdued. I had very little loss and it's just beautiful. ONE USE! I definitely recommend it. It smells good but doesn't last and I like that because I'd rather smell my perfume than hair products. The shampoo bottle lid didn't pop up like it's supposed to but that's trivial. I'm going to continue using this for a while and also get into the leave in and repair conditioners.

Avoid The Recovery Systems Unless You Want to Further Damage Your Hair
I started using the Recovery Shampoo and Conditioner about 3 years ago. My hair felt softer when wet and was easy to comb through. So, I thought this meant that it was repairing the damage. Wrong! I started to notice that my hair was breaking off more after about 6 months. Then it became brittle and I lost all the elasticity. I never thought it had anything to do with these products because of how soft my hair was when wet and the ease of combing through it. However, it just became more and more frizzy, brittle, snapping off, split ends galore. Turns out, these products caused SIGNIFICANT protein overload, but due to something in the products coating my hair, it was hiding the damage it was causing. Now, my hair is so far gone with protein overload that it’s probably going to take a year to repair and I’m praying I don’t have to cut it off. I just had to spend hundreds of dollars on products to start correcting what’s been done. I’m furious with the brand not warning that these products are not meant for long term, but instead make it seem like an ongoing answer to prayers. I feel duped, especially after the staggering amount of money I’ve paid them to ruin my hair. I wasn’t even aware of the amount of protein in these nor was I aware that it’s possible to overload your hair with it. The fact that the other ingredients hide what it’s doing so well makes me so angry. I turned to these products in desperation to save my hair and now it’s worse than when I started using them. They may be good for short term or occasional use, but don’t buy these for your normal hair routine. I specifically saw advertisements with Jennifer Garner going through her daily routine with the Recovery system specifically. It’s incredibly misleading, so don’t buy into the hype. Turns out that many people also aren’t finding out what’s been done to their hair from these products until it’s too late. However, you won’t see it without some research. Used to love these and now they’re one of my biggest regrets.

Not worth it
It all started when I read an article that said Nicole Kidman used this for her hair!! This shampoo does “tame” my hair.. however, I have to use herbal essence moisturizing conditioner with it to make my hair soft. Also, after 3 days of using.. I notice a lot of my hair is falling out during wash! It’s super scary! I have no issues with my hair falling out or anything like that prior. The conditioner sucks too. It’s like you’re putting clay in your hair. Super over priced and not feeling like the value is there at all. I wish I could return after giving an honest review, but I’m not going to return a half used bottle.

Really did not suit my hair (which is dry, frizzy and highlighted, but which I can normally get straight and smooth with GHD straightener). I used the Virtue shampoo and conditioner and it made my hair completely unmanageable and straw-like; even the straightener couldn't help. Tried it twice then gave up
