The quality has been reliable. I usually get the gold but decided to try this one as it was slightly less expensive (and a cool color combo - sucker for aesthetics)I will only use hot tools that have variable temperature control, which this iron has - going from 280-450 degrees.The first 2 or 3 times used, my hair really stuck to the coating on the barrel. Something I never experienced with the gold line. Some styles have you run the hair through at the end, and that was a little difficult.
