Tekk Monster Jam Mini Hoop

This is easily the best rim on the market. I have had a SKLZ rim for nearly 10 years and still going strong. The rim has handled absolute torture from myself and my friends and to this day still handles abuse with absolutely no repairs. The SKLZ rim is a close second, but this rim..... What sets this rim apart from the SKLZ is two things 1) It has a feel of an actual, real basketball hoop. The actual rim is very thick and extremely durable. SKLZ rim holds up and to this day doesn't miss a beat, but is fairly thin and doesn't have that real basketball rim feel. With the TEKK rim being so much thicker, it seems to absorb the shock of a shot better than the SKLZ rim AND 2) the net is so much better on the TEKK. It again has the more "basketball feel." It is fairly thick and has the funnel shape we are accustomed to seeing for a beautiful swish. The SKLZ, however, has more of a tube shaped net, not as thick, and definitely does not give the same satisfying swish you get with the TEKK. All in all TEKK is the best on the market and gives you the actual "basketball feel." Extremely durable and well made. Very easy to assemble (maybe 5-10 minutes) and comes with extra parts, a ball, and a pump with needle. As a person who played NERF basketball his whole life, my brother and I were always looking for a solid, perfect rim. I've been through a ton of them, and this one takes the cake ESPECIALLY for the price. An absolute steal! The SKLZ rim is still a great rim, and like I said I have had for 10 years, but I didn't know what I was really missing until I bought this one. You cannot go wrong with either, but the TEKK has won me over. Another note, this rims diameter seems to be maybe a quarter to a half inch bigger than the SKLZ which might help achieve the swish we all desire.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: This mini hoop is great the net is a bit short the swishes are amazing. The 12x18 is bought 2 to 3 years ago is amazing but started to wear out a little bit so I bought the bigger one for backboard use and to get the new one. The set up was fairly easy and the performance doesn't dissapoint. The swishes are amazing but the net is a big short which I got a chain and another net coming soon and a ball. The ball is good. And the hoop itself is awesome definetly the best doormounted mini hoop ever.

Bought this same one a second time. First one lasted a couple of years and thousands of hours of use. It's very sturdy, supports the metal rim well, and feels like a miniature real hoop. A+

Pretty good but the rim is very loud.

Love this toy for my son.. I got the larger one which is almost the whole width of the door, kinda wish I would have got the smaller one. But my son loves it and this brand in particular we had before, lasted 5 years but due to him hanging on it, finally broke. And when it broke it didn’t shatter into pieces it stayed almost intact. So seems safe and sturdy to me.. don’t advise letting kids hang from it though

This hoop is by far the best one I have purchased to date. I have owned a lot through out my life and the weakest part of the hoop was usually where the rim meets the backboard. Either the backboard broke or the rim bent. The spring system they use holds up to the most brutal punishment. The plastic backboard actually has just enough give in it to "bend but not break" and relieve some of the pressure put on the rim when it is slammed. I seriously went through 4 hoops before this one, and my 9 yr old boy had broken them all within a week. This one has been up for over 6 months and it is still fully operational. If you have any reservations about this hoop, even with the price, don't. It is worth every penny and will keep a smile on my boys face for as long as he keeps it in his room!

Originally ordered the larger hoop for my son which he paid for with some of his Christmas money. He was super excited to receive it and spent many hours dunking, dribbling, and jamming. However, three weeks into his basketball bliss, a crack developed at the connection points from the rim to the backboard. One dunk the right way and the hoop broke off from the board. Contacted Tekk right away by e-mail and after providing my phone number, an excellent representative (manager probably?) was calling me within the hour to discuss resolution. The followup from that point was fantastic. I was provided options and after discussing with my son, we had a new hoop on our doorstep within ONE WEEK (!!) and a partial refund to my account to pay back my son because we chose to go with the smaller hoop which is guaranteed to be able to dunk and hang on. So far, so great. He is back in action and I am one very pleased parent. This company takes pride in their products and ownership. Feel confident doing business with them!!! I'm so glad we did!
