Twilight Blue pond dye is a great color for our earth pond
We have a lot of pond weeds growing in our 1/4 acre earth pond every summer, making it look very unappealing (except to the dogs). Previously we have used a different color dye from the Pond Guy, but it made the water resemble the Caribbean, and we live in North Idaho. This time we chose the Twilight Blue color, applying it towards the end of March to get a head start on the weed growth. The color is really nice, a darker blue that looks pretty natural for our area. We initially added one cup of dye, but the color wasn't quite as dark as we wanted so added another cup, which did the trick. When the weather warms up, we will try Muckaway to help clear the bottom of the pond, which is now about twenty years old. Over ten years ago we added a baggie full of goldfish to the water (from a pet store, to "help" feed the turtles); there continue to be several large schools of goldfish of different sizes and colors that over-winter, so they are alive and well, and attracting herons, Kingfishers, ospreys and mergansers. Hopefully the darker color of the water will make it more difficult for them to get picked off! We plan to use the dye every 4-6 weeks as recommended; it is very cost-effective for us since our pond is small with a constant influx of water from an underground stream, and doesn't need aeration.

Muddy to perfect Blue
I had a muddy pond that was needing a lot of work. I added this and within a few days my ponds water clarity went from 0 inches to over a foot of clarity. It helped with the overall appearance and did not kill any fish. Incredible what a little color can do for a pond!

Deep blue
Easy to use. Just pour in several spots and dye slowly spread over about two days. Nice color and fish are coming closer to shore.

Spend a little more and save money!
I normally use Crystal Blue in the 2.5 gallon jug. I thought it would be easier to use the smaller containers and thought I would give something else a try. MISTAKE. The Crystal Blue makes my pond a nice color. To start, this stuff when poured in swirls around in these weird ribbons like it does not want to mix with the water. Crystal Blue immediately starts to disperse into the water. I added 4 bottles of this, according to them, 4 gallons equivalent. The next day, it was hardly noticeable. If I had not put it in myself, I would not have believed that colorant was put in the pond. Came back a week later and still no real difference. Four gallons of Crystal Blue would have made the pond incredibly blue. I know this is twilight color but I have used Crystal Blue Sapphire Blue which is the darker color that contains some black out in it. This should have been about the same. Going back to Crystal Blue brand for sure. Spend a little more on Crystal Blue and you will actually save money in the long run.

Wonderful improvement in pond appearance
Only downside is you have to be very careful not to spill. Will stain skin, but comes off in a couple of days. Use disposable rubber gloves. Putting cap back on is easy, but again, watch out for a spill. I do everything over a laid out plastic kitchen bad, with gloves, and make sure don't have to go over pavers etc. But the result is worth it.

A little goes a long way. Will discolor rocks.
Long lasting. Use very, very little in small pond

No color
I've used various pond dyes over the years and have never had a dye that turned out colorless. There is no blue color to my pond at all. Now I'll have to buy a different dye from someone else. Very DISAPPOINTED!

I have used this product for a couple of years and it really works well to get rid of the algae. We have a large, deep pond and it protects the fish from the herons as well. The water has a nice deep blue color. It was delivered on time with no problems.

Turns water very dark almost black. I have a 5000 gallon pond and only had to use about 50 ml to see nearly immediate results.
