Simple and Effective
This does just what I want -- time, steps and calories. No fancy anything or bells going off. Great product!

Awesome! Inspires you to get active!
I needed some encouragement to be more active. The Fibit Zip allowed me to tangibly see how inactive I had become. I soon realized I was only walking about 1,200-2,500 steps a day. In my mind, I was moderately active as I spent a good portion of my day on my feet cooking and cleaning, so this was quite a shocking revelation. It turns out, my day consists of a lot of standing, so while I may not be lounging all day, I'm certainly not expending a ton of energy. Here are some of the lifestyle changes it inspired: -I now park my car in the outmost part of the parking lot -I pace around my house in 10 minute spurts to get another 1,000 steps -I get up and walk in place during commercial breaks -I walk around different grocery stores comparing prices (getting steps in and saving $$) -I go on nightly walks and dont stop until I hit 10,000 -I'm much more motivated to clean knowing I'm getting valuable steps in It has become a personal challenge to find ways to sneak extra steps in. I am so pleased with the purchase for the awareness it has provided me. Highly recommend!

good for the price
I ordered this because it was the cheapest fitbit I could find. It is is very simple to use and there is no need to charge (not sure how long the battery will last). I did find the clip was a bit stiff and difficult to clip on my belt. The display also ends up being upside-down when clipped to my belt, so it was hard to read. I solved this by clipping it to my keys instead. I have a tile attached to my keys, so that should hopefully keep me from misplacing the fitbit. I find that it sometimes reports issues syncing with my phone. The fitbit itself is supposed to have a 7 day memory and it is able to sync several times a day, so the steps do eventually get counted.

Quit after 4 months
After wearing one of these since they came out, ordered a new one after the last one quit (after six years and many hours of swimming). Had issues with the software connection from early on, but the unit worked. It finally stopped working at all (as in, nothing tracked, though the unit was on). Seller advised me to get a pedometer instead, and refused any other support. Awful experience.

A good motivational item, though not very accurate
My wife is in a group that are competing on FitBit numbers - a worthy goal to get people out of their office chairs and thinking about where they can walk to beat each other. The FitBit measures the number of steps taken by the user every day and reports these back to a website for comparison with your team. The PC integration is simple and once set up it operates seamlessly. There are two issues to be aware of: you need to install the battery when it arrives by removing the backing (use a small screwdriver or a quarter) and detaching the protective plastic strip. Many of the dead-on-arrival complaints in these reviews most likely come from not connecting the battery. The second problem is that it's not very accurate. A very slight movement will count as a footstep so it's very easy to cheat (rubber band the device to an electric toothbrush and watch it go crazy). So while it's definitely a fun gadget to promote fitness, don't count on your FitBit being very exact in how many steps a day you're actually taking.

LOVE this little item!
I LOVE this! My daughter got one for Christmas and promoted it on her blog mealsandmoves.com. As soon as I saw how it motivated her to move even more than she already does I decided I really needed one!! I ordered it, it shipped quickly and I immediately set it up and got to walking! it's fun to see just how many steps we can take in one day. I like the web support. Mine has worked right from the get go!! Love that it can sync with my iphone 4s! I have since bought two more for gifts for others! 2 thumbs up!

Perfect size
Love love love my Fitbit. It’s the perfect size just clip it on your waistband and you’re ready to go. I put mine on the first thing in the morning and keep it there all day.

Fitbit home run!
I just love this little thing! It motivates me to keep moving and as a result, burn more calories than I would without this motivation! The larger one counts steps taken and sleep, this little one just steps and calories (and the time! what a bonus!), but it's only half the price- and I don't thing steps are worth another $50. I can track my own sleep, too. I've gotten mine tied in with sparkpeople.com which is a free weight loss tool.

Rather than have lots of other features, I just wanted something to keep a track of the steps I take. And that's exactly what this clever little bit of tech does. However, there are lots of bonuses. It does give you the associated mileage, calories burnt and the time of day. And then there's the app for your phone & the one for your computer which provides interesting & useful reports, plus platforms for adding lots of other information, if you wish, about yourself, stride length, food intake, other activities and so on. The tracker syncs up very efficiently with your phone & computer via bluetooth & I find this facility motivates me even more to keep active. For example, the tracker cleverly works out the number of minutes you are active. I found that going shopping for 20 minutes resulted in only a couple of active minutes. Equally, a round of golf lasting 4 hours resulted in under 2.5 active hours. When you think about it, this is about right I would say. Then there's the opportunity to join like minded groups. Doing that helped motivation again as it's nice to see where you are in the league table of your chosen group(s). The tracker itself is very small & changing between the 4 modes couldn't be easier - you just tap the unit. The little rubberised case it comes with provides excellent protection & has an extremely strong clip which helps to make sure you don't lose it. Battery life I can't comment on yet as I've only had it a few weeks. Overall, if you want a nice straightforward step tracker that looks nice, works well & is well supported via the app then this is the one for you.
