First I need to say our Golden has had "allergy eyes" since he was young (he's 7 now) and after being neutered and losing his older brother within a month last year, he went from his healthy weight of 95lbs to 120lbs! He has always "free-fed" (social eater, never over ate) but was pretty inactive/depressed. Although, at first I didn't think the Natural Balance Limited Ingredient food was the highest quality (via dogfoodadvisor dot com website), but because of multiple allergy issues (what we thought were mostly seasonal type, not food related) on the advice of our Vet we switched our Golden Retriever over to the Sweet Potato & Fish formula AND reduced his portion to only 1 cup per day. He also said NO OTHER TREATS unless it was a few pieces of the same dog food. The idea was to limit his food to only the specific ingredients! So, I was thrilled to find the same limited ingredient food offered in a treat! Between Aug. 2013 - Jan 2014 I've ordered 4 bags. Each bag has contained high quality treats that always smell extremely fresh. In fact, that is a quality I truly respect about both the food and the treats... both have such a strong (but not bad!) scent you can tell it's fresh and high quality. There have been one or two broken or partial biscuits but no hollow ones as some have described. The only anomonly was one bag arrived with teeny-tiny little bones (about 1/4" x 1/2" vs the others that are about 1" x 2"). The total oz was the same so I shrugged it off & the next order that arrived were the standard size. Not sure what that was about and when I checked my order and the website I couldn't find any explanation. The dog didn't mind and just got 3 nibbles instead of one, lol. Great value!

Hi All, I don't write too many reviews but this should be said. We have two large Labs who are 1.5 years and 8 months. The older one developed allergies which was getting costly. We didn't know if it was pollen or his food (Nutro). He had a skin rash that would come and go, thinned fur on his chest and he'd pick at his legs and paws and make them red. When winter came, the pollen/grass was gone and the doctor recommended LIT foods and specifically this brand. We went for the Salmon Fish variety for cost and had good luck with other salmon treats in the past which helped keep coats shiny. I bought these treats as a supplement because we had to experiment for 8 weeks limiting him to only this food to investigate whether he had an allergy to the food. I figured the treats were the same food , just in a cookie form... I WAS WRONG. We started getting Diarrhea in both dogs even though the younger one was still on Nutro puppy food. We cut out these treats and no more gas or diarrhea. I read the ingredients yesterday and discovered the treats have a large amount of CANE MOLASSES... ie SUGAR! Why the heck you'd put sugar in any dog treats is beyond me but to put it in LIT treats is just plain stupid. Dogs shouldn't have sugar.... The treats have some fish in them but are mostly potatoes and sugar. More cane molasses than fish in these... Now I'm stuck with two bags of this garbage. I have to think this is a fluke with Natural Balance and maybe some other company makes their treats as their food is excellent. We have completely solid stools on the basic LIT fish and sweet potato food and our Lab's hair is growing back with no skin problems. We have both dogs on the food now out of convenience, just started that this week after 3 weeks into the experiment. The puppy is now 75lbs so I don't think he needs the puppy food anymore. Do not buy these... even if you have no immediate affects of diarrhea and gas, your dog doesn't need sugar. We were only giving them between 1-3 of the treats a day too... Natural balance has a new line of LIT crunchy treats on their site without the sugar.. maybe they are transitioning..

Since the imported chicken treats were pulled off the shelves because so many animals were getting ill, all the treats now are so expensive, I can't afford them, being on a fixed income. I began looking here for something I was satisfied with for the content, and the price. I chose these, and I chose well! I brought the box in the house, and 'Hallielooya', my dog, was all over it, her nose just a'going. I thought, well, are they lose in this taped up box?? NO! The box was well sealed, and the product was in a nice bag, completely sealed. She smelled them through all that! I bought 2 sizes, and have already given a review on the other one so I wil simply repeat that one. She loves them. I got 2 sizes, as the biscuits themselves are different sizes. Not that I couldn't have cut them , but I have trained her with food, different sizes for different things- as my service dog; and it is easier on my arthritic fingers not to have to cut them. No more searching at retail stores. From now on, I will select my monthly order on Amazon in for all her treats. It is so economical and easy, especially when you are disabled. You can examine ingredients, read reviews in the comfort and convenience of your home, not standing in a store where people are milling all around. kudos for a great product at a reasonable price.

My dogs have eaten these for years due to food intolerances, but in the last year, the product had changed shape and consistency. They are now harder and more compact. This makes it more difficult to eat for my senior dog. They used to fit perfectly in Kongs. With the new shape they fall right out. The old shape was unique and easier to break in half. Now I struggle to break the small ones in half! Here's hoping they decide to switch back.

My Boston terrier is allergic to poultry and wheat, which eliminates almost all "healthy" treats since they're often made of chicken and whole wheat. If I hadn't found these fish and potato treats, he wouldn't have treats at all. He's also a fussy eater but he loves these. Now that he's older he has to bite them into smaller pieces so he can chew them, but he manages.
