No secret is my fondness for German made tools. Gedore is a German owned company that I’ve not had much experience with. I have a few boxend wrenches (German made) of theirs that I picked up at a yard sale and liked them. So I thought I’d try this set out as I’ve been toying with bit sets lately. The price seemed reasonable, but I had strong feeling’s of bad mojo when I saw it was shipped via Australia Post Global (APG). If you’ve never had the experience of APG, consider yourself fortunate. I won’t bore you with their problems, there are many, but look them up. The set arrived with a disappointing jingle coming from the shrink wrapped case. When I opened it, I found about half the bits running free inside. Took me about 40 minutes to put everything back into place. By the way, save the wrapper as thats the only way to track where the bits are supposed to go. The bits themselves are functional and I’ve tested them on some shelves and a cabinet I repainted, the did their job and believe they would work well for DIY projects. The bits are made of an alloy steel and I believe it would be disappointing if they were used in a professional setting. The case is acceptable, but the clamps used to hold them are brittle (see photos) that’s why the free range bits I found. For those that may not know, Gedore has two companies (simplified for space) Gedore Blue (higher quality mostly made in Germany) and Gedore Red(cheaper and mostly Chinese made). This set is Gedore Blue, but made in Taiwan. I think it was color coded wrong. Bottom line, if you’re just looking for a set of bits to use for lite-medium duty and the house and can find this at $25-40 this would be a decent choice. Otherwise, put in a few more duckies and opt for a Hazet or Wera bits set, then you wouldn’t be disappointed. Gedore, I expect better and you can do better!

Very good bit set

Die Bits sind wirklich gut, der Bithalter funktioniert ohne wenn und aber und das Case ist robust und handlich. Ich kenne kein besseres Bit-Set. Und der Preis ist absolut akzeptabel.
