Great Dog Stairs!
I researched a great deal of pet stairs before I purchased this set. I measured how high my bed was and noted that this seemed to have a lot of good reviews, not just on Amazon but on other Web Sites as well.I purchased these because my dog has luxating patellas which means that his knee caps go in and out of place. He has to have surgery soon but he will always have arthritis no matter what. He is 8 years old. It took about ten minutes and my dog uses these stairs consistently to get up and down from the bed. I notice that he does this whether or not I am in the room. He was very easy to train because he is very much a treat-lover, and obviously he has knee pain and seems to be keen on the fact that the stairs are much easier on him than the impact from getting up and down.It should be noted that I have a 4 year old dog who loathes these stairs. After a few weeks with them, she is just now coming around to using them here and there to get up and down. My hope is that she'll recognize they are better for her in the long run as well, and I will also continue to use positive reinforcement with training. When she was a puppy she was afraid of the stairs coming up to the second floor (I live in a town house.) Some dogs are just going to have issues there and will need to be worked with more until they are comfortable. As for the quality of the stairs, I would say they are very well made. They are sturdy on a carpeted floor. I have my doubts that they would be as sturdy on a hardwood or tiled floor because they are plastic. However, I have them on a carpeted floor and my dog is a little under 20lbs. The stairs are not wobbly, but I do check them often to see if things shift. That can happen with any kind of furniture and so far they are solid. The carpet on the stairs is thin but real. Ultimately, I think this is why my dog took so well to them.My vet suggested wooden stairs but for ones that don't even reach this high they were double in price. I am also not certain that just because they are wooden they would be any more sturdy than these are. These are made of a nice, super thick plastic. These stairs are a quality product at the price offered. It took about ten minutes to put them together, and my dog adjusted to them perfectly. I would recommend them to anyone who needs pet stairs as long as they are going to use them on a carpeted floor.

Well made, safe, and has made life better for our dog
I researched extensively and decided on these. The Pet Gear Easy Step III stairs are very well made and sturdy, they are hard plastic and easy to clean and the carpet pads on each step help traction and come off for cleaning. They were very easy to put together, although because I have arthritis I needed help pushing hard enough to pop some parts in their slots. The construction reminds me of the Fischer Price big toys like the car and other large items that last for years. The steps are wide and deep enough to be safe. The Pet Gear stairs are perfect for my daughter's 10 year old Pomeranian who has some back problems. He sleeps with my daughter and can not get up or off the bed like his little brothers. Because he is now on special food for a kidney stone he has frequent urination and a few times has had accidents on the bed. (I also purchased the Dogit Training Pad Holder and pads on Amazon to put on the floor so he has a place to urinate if he has to during the night)The steps are tilted a little which makes them kinda scary at first because the dogs feel like they are going to slip, but they have carpeting and once he got used to them, Nigel uses them all the time. I'm not sure why they are tilted but maybe it makes it easier for some dogs to get up. Her 9 year old chihuahua won't use them at all.I like the three step because it goes right to the top of the mattress. It is a high pillow-top, so the steps may be too high for a regular mattress. The Easy Step III stairs have changed the little guy's life. Very happy with this purchase for my Grand-pup.

Great Pet Stairs!
Because my bed is higher than average, my 25# Shih-Apso was starting to have a difficult time getting up and down from a smaller set of stairs. After tons of research, I chose these stairs. As usual, Amazon had them at my doorquickly. I was able to put them together in about fifteen minutes. I did use a rubber mallet to make sure the pieces were in tight. It took some amount of bribery andcoaching before he would try to go up them. They are very stable and when hefinally realized they were easy to climb, hewent right up. I think the slant of the steps is a bit more than necessary. It seemed tomake him uneasy. He is fine with them now.I have mine on carpet and they don't slip. Idon't think I would put them on barefloors. I think the weight rating must beaccurate. I saw the cable guy step onthem and they didn't budge. :-)Be aware that they do stick out into the room a bit.I highly recommend these pet stairs.

Great pet steps
I bought these steps mainly for one of our Shelties who has been recently diagnosed with a joint conditon which doesn't allow her to do the jumping she used to do. Those these steps are designed for larger dogs, and my Shelties are all approx 20 lbs, some a little less, some a little more....but these steps are larger and sturdier than some of the ones designed for small dogs which is something I was looking for. They do not wobble and the dogs are very comfortable using them. They have removable carpet pieces on each step which is great as once the carpet wears out it would be easy to make something to replace them with. The stairs themselves are made out of very thick plastic, reminds me of the little tykes childens outside play furniture, they are slightly hard to snap together but that's a good thing as once they are snapped together they are firmly in place and makes the whole unit very solid and stable. Although bought for the one dog, the others all quickly decided it was way better to use their new steps rather than trying to jump up on the bed. These are a taller set of steps, would be too tall for a couch but are perfect for our tall bed. They also come in a variation with only two steps that I'm planning to buy for use with the couch. Well worth the price, these steps will last for years and my dogs love them. My dogs didn't require any "training" to use them, I simply put one of them on the steps and patted the bed and they ran up, and with my gang it's a matter of monkey see, monkey do, once one used them, they all quickly decided by the end of the day to all use the steps. However with a dog who is more Leary of such objects, it would be easy to train with these steps by putting a small treat on each step and on the bed and coaxing them to follow the trail. Because they are nice larger steps, small dogs feel more secure using them as they wont fall off easily. Looking forward to using these for many years.

Hard to assemble, but solid steps
I bought this because my parents have the same one in their room, and I needed one for my room. The item said no hardware needed and very easy to assemble. I took the pieces out of the box and was overwhelmed. I couldn't figure out how to line up the sides and once I did figure it out, I can't get the sides to fully clasp. Half of the one side is not fully tight, but it seems sturdy enough to use. I can't imagine trying to pull it apart to send back, so I'll live with it. It is a sturdy item and the dogs are already used to using it.

Great solution for aging little dogs!
Our dogs are getting older, and were starting to struggle to get up to our bed. They are all only about 12 lbs, Chihuahua & Shih Tzu mixes. They had been using a foot stool to get up & down from our (about 26 inches high) and Brea was starting to not come up, even at night, because she was afraid to jump up and/or down. When we got these steps, Coco mastered them almost immediately! Brea took a little longer, being a little more afraid of falling off I think, but after just a few days she was good too, and is back to running up them to sleep on the bed even by herself without encouragement, during the day when we are in the office working (working from home) and she doesn't hesitate to come up to bed at night! They are light weight, which makes them easy to move (not that we do, but we could), they were easy to put together, plastic"y", but the pieces just snap into each other, and there is space under the steps with an open back on that side. We keep 'diapers' for our oldest dog in that space, along with the rubber gloves, and other stuff that we need to care for him (he is 16 years old and incontinent at this point, frail, etc...) Great little extra storage nook bonus. So, our dogs are little, but if your dogs are heavier, I think these steps would still be a great, affordable solution. Thank you for such a great, affordable solution to our aging fur babies!

Find something else
Visually, they look great. But they are so unstable. It's rated for 150 pounds so I figured it would be nice and sturdy. My girl is only 60 pounds and she can't get on them completely without the stairs wobbling. These don't even have a base so I can't even just weigh it down like I did with my other stairs. These might be fine if you have a dog that moves super slow and cautious. But anything more than that and these will just buckle right out from under them. i’m super disappointed, especially for the price point. I paid $80 for the stairs. I expected something better.

Hohe robuste Hundetreppe

Great product
I have two small dogs who need assistance to get on the beds. I was using a regular kitchen step but they would slip sometimes or get nervous of it and it started to be me who put them on the beds all the time. I was determined to find a solution. I went online and found these steps. I thought the price was very reasonable. When they arrived at my door, I was so pleasantly surprised to see how easy they were to assemble. It's just a matter of clicking a few pieces together. This is good too for portability. If you need to take the stairs with you, you can just as easily disassemble them. It took a few days for the two dogs to get the hang of them but now they are up and down those stairs like nobody's business. The stairs are sturdy and stable. The stairs slant slightly forward so that the dog can easily see where he is going and feel secure when using them. My dogs are very pleased and have stopped asking for assistance! Yay!
