VViViD Matte Black Vinyl Wrap Adhesive Film Air Release Decal Sheet (1ft x 5ft)

I used this VViViD matte black vinyl wrap to refresh the look of my car's interior trim and a few electronics around the house. I used this stuff to wrap the front of a portable AC unit. All of the furniture in my basement is black or with a wood grain pattern so the white AC was really out of place, it was practically glowing. I should preface this review by mentioning that I have never wrapped anything before. A while back I considered wrapping my laptop but with the way I'm so particular about very small details I always felt like the wrapping process would drive me crazy and I would never be happy with the end result. This AC project didn't require nearly as much precision as wrapping a laptop so I was willing to give it a try. The end result was pretty good. I ended up with a few creases toward the bottom around the left hand edge but it's virtually impossible to see that. I was mainly concerned with getting the front of the unit a smooth matte black. Mission accomplished. This wrap was fairly easy to work with. I was able to pull it off and re-apply it over and over as I worked my way down from top to bottom. I didn't have a squeegee or whatever other tools you're supposed to use, instead applying it by hand all the way down. I didn't use any heat at all either. On the bottom I had about a half inch of fold under so I used some electrical tape to secure the bottom edge. I'm not sure how well it will hold up but since it will be inside I think it ought to be fine. If it starts peeling off I'll have plenty more to try it all again. Final notes: - Dimensions: I dunno what dimension is supposed to be 2 feet, but this roll was absolutely not 2 feet in either dimension. I haven't completely unfurled it but I'm assuming that's the 5 foot dimension. The roll I received is 3 feet tall. So I'm pretty sure I received a 3'x5' product. This worked out ok but I was counting on the 2' roll as I would have only had to cut out my piece in one direction rather than trim it in two directions. - Packing: the outer packaging was a sturdy cardboard box with some paper which offered ample protection during shipping. However, there were two very annoying pieces of tape used to keep it from unfurling in its packaging. This tape left a slight oily sheen on the matte surface which I didn't realize until after I had cut the piece to size and applied it. I was able to "buff out" the oily sheen with a dry rag.

This wrap is one of the cheapest out there. Got enough for my jeep for less than $300. 3M 2080 would be double the price. Not the best for beginners because it’s thick, brittle, and pretty stiff material that requires a good amount of heat to work with. The adhesive isn’t the best, did a full post heat and post heated all the corners to seal, but some edges lifted after a couple of weeks. After the 2nd time post heating the edges that do stay but you practically have to melt the material to be sure it doesn’t move. All in all it’s the best price for decent quality just make sure you know what you’re doing. Finish does look great in the end but we’ll see how long it holds up compared to 3M 2080 and Avery sw900

Quality product, its you are a beginner, almost nobody tell you, use liquid wrap juice or rapid tac, on both side to install. If not you gonna battle to install this.

Update on customer service: So I sent pictures and comments to the warranty department with vivvid. You would be lucky to get a refund. They won't give me anything saying there is no problems with their product. Basically user error. This is my first time wrapping. But I watched countless videos before I attempted it. The wrap around the curves of my car are peeling away. I did not stretch over these areas and heated plenty to get a good bond. All flat areas were glassed. I bought a kit to make sure I had a squeegee to take care of the bubbles. The seams were overlapped at least a quarter inch and still managed to shrink to the point of seeing paint. And it also cracks on its own when it cools down. The heat from the sun showed all the imperfections. This is not from user error as everything was cleaned thoroughly and done the way it was suppose to be. So please if you are debating on getting this crap vinyl don't. Spend the extra money and get 3m or Avery. I hope nobody buys this vinyl ever again. I used this wrap to put on my mustang. Let me tell you it is very difficult to work with. I did everything the way you are suppose to. I wiped everything down with alcohol and sprayed everything off with an air hose before I applied. I heated it, stretched it a little to where it needs to go. I have areas pulling away. If it's hot on the car it bubbles up. If it's cold after being hot it cracks. And it just keeps shrinking. It's does not hold at all in the creases of the car even after heating it. It leaves wrinkles and bubbles everywhere that are impossible to get out. I tried everything to make it look good. I have never been so upset with myself buying something. I'm very handy and good with things like this. But this stuff is junk. I was only trying to wrap the ugly yellow mustang for my daughter because it's her first car. Now I am out that money and ended up with an ugly wrap job.
