Nice variety of color compared to other color selections that most professional watercolors offer with the rage of these colors, you can do more than botanical paintings which is convenient! I swatched out most of the colors besides cadmium lemon yellow since I don't think it's necessary to have that many yellows in this set, but besides that, these colors are vibrant and worth the investment

I would say that the word "excellent" isn't just enough to describe this beautiful paints. I attached a picture that may speak for itself. Please forgive the uneven washes, but the aim was purely to give a fairly accurate idea of the colors you will find here for your reference :-) The set arrived quickly, perfectly packaged despite the long travel (thank you Amazon.co.jp!) and the cardboad box itself has a wonderful design with this botanical piece of illustration. Most of the paints are single pigments colors, but even the mixes are clear and vibrant and so trasparent. There are two cadmiums and two cobalts, and I am so happy with the color selection. You will find plenty of primaries, both cool and warm shades, so you can mix pretty much every colors you may need: -a warm, cool and mid yellow, an earthy yellow ("yellow ochre"); -four browns including the ochre itself; -three greens, which are clean and transparent despite being pre-mixed colors (so you can still perfectly use them as a great "base-green color" to mix with others and obtain natural greens) -fours wonderful different blues plus a ready-made payne's gray; -plenty of violets and reds, and two bright "luminous colors", Opera and Bright Violet, which may not be lightfast but they add a touch of glow to your florals. As long as you protect your original works from light, and make sure to use them just not to paint pieces that are going to be sold (but you can always scan them and still sell prints), you will be fine. I only wish Holbein watercolor paint were easily available in western countries as well! They are as much valuable as every top-quality fine art watercolor brands. And, very important, there are no white and no black, thankfully! This is a totally personal preference, but I find so frustrating when you buy sets that contain black and white. The reason is, most people can't find them very useful, and also they are quite unexpensive pigments to be honest, which you may very easily buy for yourself. Having them in a set does lower the overall value, just in my opinion. So, thank you Holbein for putting together such a beautiful and useful palette :-) I love painting with them, and will treasure them for my most important works. Highly recommended.

Excellent product for those who do botanicals.the paint is premium quality. Has very interesting rare pigments in the set. Only issue was with the delivery because it was delivered by third party which got delayed and there was no update from them.

Nice paints but the accompanying leaflet was all in Chinese!

Small tubes but lots of pigment. I'm beyond happy to have it ❤thanks holbein. It's for watercolor paintings. Stores well. Water reactivated. Blends amazingly smooth. You can store it in small pallets. Little expensive but you have to use holbein paints to love good painting experiences. Quality is a class apart.
