BESSEY TG7.048+2K Clamp, woodworking, F-style, 2K handle, replaceable pads, 7 In. x 48 In., 1320 lb

These are fabulous well made clamps. They are strong and very easy to use and adjust and don’t slip. I want to have this type of clamp in many lengths. I prefer them to all other types for general woodworking, even if they need cauls. They are made in Germany and I prefer German woodworking tools. I bought these to be the two main clamps to clamp boards and things to my workbench while I work on them. I have started to like these 2K handles from German manufacturers. I have mostly wooden handles on my tools. But I really like the 2K handles. I think they are a great buy in this size. I also like they have a small lug on the top that lets them stand upside down on a flat surface and not tip. Great clamp.

I needed to fasten some exterior trim to the middle of a large cabinet. I used headless pin nails to position the trim, but I used two of these to clamp the 3/4" x 2.5" Oak trim in place from each end of the trim piece. These clamps worked flawlessly and gave me the proper gluing pressure over the length of the trim piece that I needed. Simple to set and simple to remove from the workpiece. The handle is really nice compared to my older Bessy clamps. Pros- Its a Bessey - Made in Germany 7.5" jaw clutchless design Heavy main clamping bar great clamping pads - removable for replacement. The pads can be "secured" with some double side tape if you REALLY need to otherwise, they work great and have yet to fall off for me. Bessey is the only clamp maker that makes large jaw clamps Things some might consider Cons: ( I don't) Cost - well you can complain about the cost all you want - but you CAN NOT complain about the quality of this clamp - Quality vs Price - pick your poison (I choose quality) This clamp is a specialty clamp - when you need it you really need it and cost is no longer an issue to get the job done right. Heavy - Sure it is heavier than a 3.5" jaw clamp for obvious reasons. I will be ordering more as I have another unique cabinet project coming up. Bessey also makes these in the 16" size , so I will pick up a few of them as well.

I use these clamps to secure a floating board for my jewelry making. The clamps are of great quality design and have a good weight to them as well. I can’t express how great of a value this is for the money. They’re easy to use and super handy to have around when something needs to be clamped. The rubber ends keep from damaging the surface of the boards and are easy to slip on and off if needed.

These clamps are solid but they wear out after a year of daily use. I bought this set to replace my current set. Longevity could be improved with a better pad to jaw connection. The crimp comes loose and the pad comes off. I drilled and tapped for a 6-32 flathead screw to repair a couple but don’t have time to fix them all. Other issue is that the clamping grooves get to where they don’t catch and you have to fiddle with them sometimes not successfully. I fixed a couple by cutting the handle loose and flipping the latch bar over. But again it takes time. Overall good but I have other clamps still working after decades if use.

These are great quality. Still made in Germany. Also great price.

Heavy powerful clamps with a good reach. I took a chance and ordered a used like new pair, but one came without the upper pad. I fashioned a new one out of purple heart and glued it on, works fine. Good grip on handle, but they don’t stand on end very well without a little judicious grinding of the head. They’re heavy and should stand up to heavy use!

Wow Very heavy duty and beefy can't go wrong with this clamp. It's been awesome for the building of my projects.
