O'Neill Wetsuits Men's Gooru RG8 Hood

I use this hood mostly in the cool waters of the California central coast. It's a very comfortable hood that is thin and light but still warm. Paddling out, it helps prevent the "ice-cream" headaches I'd get without it while duck diving waves. The visor also helps block some of the sun during afternoon to sunset sessions. The thinness of the material allows me to still hear the ocean and not feel the same disconnect as I tend to get from thicker hoods. When I begin to feel too warm, the lightness allows me to take the head portion off and wear the hood around my neck and I barely know it's there. The adjustable strap allows me to lend it to my 10 year old son to use and it does a decent job of keeping the water out even though his head is considerably smaller than mine. If the neck was about one inch longer this hood would be five stars but there have been a couple of times where the neck portion pulled out of the neck line of my wetsuit and rolled up slightly.

keeps me warm but i wish the next extended about 3 inches more.. keeps coming out of my wetsuit.... it would be easier to to keep tucked inside if it were longer...

Keeps my head nice and warm in So Cal surf.
