This set of pencils boasts of the highest quality, offering pencils that blend smoothly and allow the artist to experiment with different shading techniques. These pencils can be used both dry and wet. The pros generally consist of the smoothness of the lead and the control and flexibility available, allowing for both subtle and bold watercolor results, depending on the amount of water applied. These pencils are comfortable to hold and do not smear once on paper. The cons are minimal for this set, the major complaint being that some sets have warped or off-center lead and some of the wood casings are soft, sometimes splitting while sharpening.

I've been using these for doing doll faceups and they are amazing. Very strong colors, great quality and price. It's worth the money.

These things are great for crafts.

Lead colors are rich, but I'm finding as I use this set that the lead breaks easily as pencils are sharpened. I'm now treating the pencils as more fragile than I'd prefer. At this price, I was hoping for something more robust. Unfortunately, there are few alternatives in this narrow market.

I got these for my son who is getting into creating his own manga and prefers colored pencils. He still hasn't tried using water with them yet, but he also hasn't stopped coloring with them. He absolutely loves them and refuses to use any of his other colored pencils now even though he has to combine pencils to get colors that he has in other pencils. I started coloring with him and I was blown away by how nicely they color. I will edit and add pictures once I finish it with water!

The colors of the pencils are beautiful and works well without water, as well as mixed with a bit of water added thru a waterbrush. I like them so much I want to add more colors to my set, so I have ordered a larger set.

Nice colors and the tin tray to store, but the pencils had no points on them when opened. Each one had to be sharpened just to use and they break easily.

I had never used watercolor pencils before purchasing these. I bought them on recommendation from a few Bible Journaling blogs that I follow. After using them in my own Bible Journaling, I am hooked! They are a nice upgrade for adults from Crayola colored pencils. I am not an artist by any means, but I like using them in doodling and journaling. The case that they come in is very handy, too. The only thing that I wish is that I had purchased the larger set with more colors!

Poor quality from Prismacolor! I'd had these in my Amazon cart for many months. When I opened them I was immediately aware of a split pencil. It is split from tip to tail! Actually several pencils are split!
