Tentacles!: Tales of the Giant Squid (Step into Reading)

My son can recite this book. We read as a bedtime story. He is 4- nearly 5 years old. He loves squid and this book has great pictures, great examples (a giant squid stretched across a baseball field!) and scientific facts mixed with the old myths (“scientists say no” this isn’t possible…) I think it’s a little outdated since I think they did get a giant squid on film in 2006? But we talk through that and how scientists keep making discoveries. I thought the talk of dead squid and photos of washed up carcasses would bother him but he is super interested and shows what scientists actually study! Great find - I love this keeps the interest and learning going!

This book was just the thing for my 9 year old son, who loves dinosaurs and monsters of the sea. We read it together, taking turns reading each page. It was informative and exciting for him.

This was for my grandsons birthday. He lives to red and love ocean life all types but is ucessed with squid you just can't walk into a store and get one lol I want disappointed.

This is a very informative book, but presents the information in a fun and interesting way. Squids are so cool and my son loves learning about how mysterious they are.

I bought this book for my 6 year old granddaughter. She loves the book and has read and re-read it many times. She also recently read a shortened version of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and was interested in giant squids so this book was a perfect introduction to more on the giant sea creatures and the photos were also great.

My daughter is fascinated by the giant squid. She LOVES this book! She has me read it over and over again and has it memorized. It's informative, educational and fun. Great book!
