Excellent product for cross sports training
One of the best cross sport watches i have ever used. The only drawback is that the display is too small if you choose to have 3 or for fields per display screen, i wish they could combine the back lit display of the Garmin 620 with this watch, but as an engineer i know that the drain on battery will be huge. On another note, the battery lifetime is awesome and really Fenix 2 can operate as a normal watch for two weeks or more and for sports you can use it for much more lengthy periods than the 620. I tried it for Biking, Open Water Swimming, Pool Swimming, Jogging and believe it or not, flying (Checking the QNH, Temperature, heading and compass) and it work just perfect. UPDATE: Used the Fenix 2 on a one week skiing trip in Austria, this watch is AMAZING for skiing, i also have the "Recon Instruments" skiing google with all the stats. This watch bypassed the Recon Goggle in stats and performance data accuracy. The autostart, autostop feature is really accurate, the watch will stop logging data once you are in gondola or on ski lift and starts again automatically when you are going downhill. The speed recording is very accurate. What is really good is the "Calorie" counter which was also very helpful in determining my food intake. I did not expect it to work this well for skiing, but surprisingly i was able to leave my Recon Instrument google in the room and utilize only the Fenix 2 for all the statistics i require. A quick note about battery life, when in SKI mode the batteries will last around 12 hours only so you need to recharge the watch overnight. In comparison the Recon Instruments google if left on display mode will only last around 5 to 6 hours.

awesome product, initially device did not charge from adopter
I initially had problems with device, later it was fine. Customer service is horrible. I bought the watch (new) on 10 May 2016. I am having issues with this watch for last few weeks. I was told by customer care it was out of warranty. My suggestion :- Avoid this product.

Incredible watch - rediculously feature packed - doubles as regular watch
No watch does it all, but this watch comes really close. I reviewed all the available watches in the same class as this one prior to buying. The only downside I saw here was that you can only run ANT2 or Bluetooth at one time, not both simultaneously. This isn't a big deal for me because I sync it with the usb dongle, and you get the ANT2 wireless USB adapter you prefer to sync wireless, but you cannot do live run and location tracking data to your phone at the same time you're using your ANT2 devices like the bundled heart rate monitor. Other than that, i'm still finding out new things that this watch can do even beyond the very excellent and exhaustive review done by one of the best fitness watch bloggers, DCRainMaker. Magnetic compass, altimeter, barometer, internal and external temperature, cadence, vertical oscillation, waypoints, track back with graphical representation of course taken (albeit in black and white with zoom functions, but just know this isn't navigation on your phone - it's designed to get you un-lost, that's it), suggested run recovery time, VO2 Max calculation updated after every workout, and multi-sport use for Biking, Running, Swimming, skiing, climbing, hiking, trail run, 50+ mile runs with extended time setting, and navigate. and more...

Snowboarding feature - Booyah!
Snowboarding feature works very well. That feature was what convinced me to try the Fenix 2. As advertised, the device knows when I'm riding the lift and when I'm making a run. Heart rate is accurately tracked along with GPS mapping of each run. Swimming feature also works pretty well. i've only used it in the pool so far, but it does what it says and tracks the laps. One caveat however, is that it doesn't seem to work well without a full charge. I did a full day on the mountain and then went to the pool to do some laps. The unit lasted one lap. After that attempting to restart only resulted in the watch rebooting itself. Worked great the week before - but I'd charged the watch using a usb adapter in the car on drive down the mountain before swimming. The watch does charge pretty quickly. It was back up to 100% after the 30+- minute drive. HR doesn't work in the pool. That's a bummer. I used to wear my 2004 vintage Polar in the pool and found waiting for HR to recover between laps was useful. Evidently Ant doesn't work in water. 4 stars instead of 5 because of the charging requirement and lack of water HR.... but otherwise, after using it for a month, I like it.

User friendly, accurate, reliable - very happy with this product.
About me: I am interested in fitness and my main interest is cycling although I would like to return to running and start to incorporate swimming into my training. Product review: I thought long and hard about this purchase. I was greatly influenced by the review provided by DC Rainmaker (http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2014/03/garmin-fenix2-multisport.html). I have a Garmin Forerunner 305 so am used the quality of Garmin products. I needed a watch that could track me running and cycling (I have lost so many cateye computer units I was fed up with buying any more of them) and specifically wanted to track pace, cadence, distance, elevation and also to be able to use laps. I also waned to be able to use the unit in water. The Fenix 2 does this very very well. The unit engages satellites quickly. You can alter the display on the watch face to show information you are most interested in. The watch is chunky on the wrist, it being 1.6cm thick. That said it is not heavy. The bundle includes the premium heart rate monitor and the pricing for the bundle is cheaper than buying the watch and hrm individually. I have not had any difficulties using the Fenix 2 and it collects so much information I will need to learn a lot more about the data it is collecting in order to make the most of this. I would recommend this product.

Amazing Watch!!!
I absolutely love this watch. After owning a Garmin Forerunner for the past 6 years I was due for an upgrade. The features on this watch seem overwhelming at first but once you get started you will appreciate all the additional information it provides. The data from the "Run Dynamics" provides a lot of useful information such as VO2 max, cadence, etc. You will be spoiled after using this watch. I recommend getting it with the HRM because you save $50 getting it as a bundle. You need the HRM to get the most out of this product. I use this watch as my everyday watch. It has cools features like Hunting/fishing recommendations, jumpmaster, and more. I mainly will use this for the triathlon events and running but it is nice to have the extra features. I have no complaints or cons at this time. This watch enables you to customize the data pages so you see what you want when you are in that sport- that is very handy. You can create multiple pages to see different metrics while you are on the go (switch from seeing distance, pace, etc to seeing heart rate and calorie information). I bought this watch for $450 from Backcountry through Amazon and two weeks later the price dropped to $350. Backcountry honored the $100 and refunded it to my account- what great service. The price of the watch now makes it more enticing to get.

Not worth the $$
Wow, this thing fails on so many levels. 1) GPS accuracy is horrible in open sky. I run the same route in my neighborhood twice a week and then a long run on the weekends. My previous Garmin, the Forerunner 410 clocked it at 6.25 miles +- .05. This thing has given me every number but 6.25. It's typically off by a 1/10 or more. 2) Trail hiking: I put it to the test in the mountains, it was three guys hiking, we had a Suunto Ambit2, the previously mentioned Forerunner 410 and this thing. Ambit2 and 410 measured the hike at around 8 miles. The Fenix was convinced we had gone 12. Just for fun as we were packing up the car, I set it on the roof still running. It somehow managed to travel nearly a quarter of a mile without moving an inch over the course of 20 minutes. 3) Data loss: Any use over about 4 hrs and you run the risk of the .fit file being corrupted. I was 2 out of 6 on the .fit file working for long use applications. TLDR; This watch is horribly inaccurate, even for short distances. The unit will occasionally corrupt your data if you use it longer than 4 hrs straight, and Garmin feels they deserve 400 dollars for it... nope.

This is by far the Best GPS watch Ive owned to date. For a complete in depth check out DCRainmakers review of the watch. Im a Marathoner and I also like to track my fitness. You can sync with Garmin Connects website on your mobile device via Bluetooth. Im a iPhone owner and so far I haven't had any issue. Charging takes about 3-4 hours to reach %100. I really love the memory feature I previously owned a Timex and Polar watch and it would take several minutes to sync with the Satellites but once you've sync in your area the watch stores the Coords and it takes like two seconds for the watch to connect then you can start your RUN. Another good feature is Battery life it seems to have good duration as long as Bluetooth remains off and GPS. With GPS running for a Hour Ive burned about %10 percent battery life. I own the Bundle Ive yet to test it in a Marathon or Triathlon but so Far I haven't had any Problems running with this watch in Hawaii and back in South Carolina

Simple to use and good for novice
Only done 1 run with this so far. The GPS connected fast, the distance covered was accurate with other runners. Setting notifications to show and having constant link with Bluetooth reduces battery life to about 36hrs. Normal watch mode used 1% in 24hrs. Bluetooth active but not show notifications makes no difference to the 36hrs previously noted. Setup is easy and download to device through USB seamless. Starting and choosing an activity is simple too. Down side is the sheer bulk of the watch, but that's obviously been dealt with in the fenix 3
