This infrared heater takes the cake.
I had really been through it trying to find a 240 volt/ under 20 amp heater for a portion of my house. I'd tried a few garage heaters without success, till I got the Dr. Infrared Heater. This heater is, so far, a keeper. It does put out good heat and is surprisingly quiet, about as loud as a good box fan. So I can keep it on even while watching TV. Also, It has a very reliable thermostat with a knob for setting your temp. It also sports two heat settings, although the fan speed remains the same. So far, this winter, the heater is keeping my heating bill down by approx. $100 over the gas heater I also can use. But, I'm wanting to reduce my carbon footprint and this heater fits the bill.

Worked well to get me through a New England winter!
Update #2 Second New England winter of use, still going strong, even on the coldest nights, high fan, 15-25% on thermostat, it doesn't run constantly, it cycles like it should, and keeps my 50' x13' garage in the low to mid 60s. Recommended for sure! Honestly, I have never have needed to set thermostat over 25-30% to maintain a comfortable garage temp. I read that 220V is much more efficient than 110, I believe it, my electric bill has not shocked me yet. Update, winter in New England........ Success! Garage is under house, so doesn't get get super cold down here even on the worst days, Brings temp from 50s to comfortable in no time. One of the only affordable 220V 20Amp heaters I could find, believe me I did the research! Won't blow you out of the room, just steady, consistant heat. Others complained about the noise, not bad at all, what the heck, you're using it in a green house or garage, who cares, plants won't lose any sleep. Give it a go. I like it, Just what I was looking for, since I had 220V 20Amp circuit already set up for compressor. I like running it on high temp, low thermostat with great results so far. It's over 10 feet away from my workbench, and I feel it immediately'

Works Great ...But Thermostat
This is a nice little heater. I bought it for a very small space backyard greenhouse. I live on the western side of central Colorado. Not in the mountains but l can reach single digits sometimes in winter. I needed a 240 electric plug, which was the decisive factor in my purchase. Plus the infrared heat is so much better than heat coils. I've had it for a month and it keeps my 8X10 space heated consistently to mid-40s. The only problem is the thermostat. It just has a dial from low to high and a 3-speed fan. It does have an auto cutoff. I really wish that it had a more fine-tuned temperature adjustment. I would prefer to be able to regulate the temperature from 32 to 75 Degrees. Digital with Bluetooth control would be ideal, because no one wants to go outside at night to adjust it.

Quiet enough, plenty of heat.
Not too loud, strong heat, the dials are easy to use. Fan cuts off with thermostat which is nice. High power setting is hot but not dangerous. Seems sturdy but if it's touched when running you will hear the fan scraping.

Dr. Heater 240V DR218-3000W (20A plug)
Built very well. Metal grill, thermostat knob turns very smoothly with nice resistance. The fan knob has a solid feel when clicking through the speeds. It uses a quality thermostat which is mounted on the rear of the housing and keeps our 2 door garage within 1 degree of set temperature even when the outside temperature reaches the 30's ( insulated garage door and r-13 attic insulation). The motor looks quality and the fan has metal blades. The Look and feel of the heater reminds me of something built in the 50's with good weight and quality parts. The fan is noisier than most 120v heaters but it does move a good bit of air, enough to heat all parts of the garage (400 sf.). From what I have seen so far this is an impressive heater in both build and function. Update: The heater had a wireing, switch problem possibly caused by continous use and wire routing (vibration?). Customer service sent the repair part promptly. Hopefully with later models this has been resolved. Other than this it is a great small and powerful heater. (220 V)

Holds up to negative temps!
Although it lacks fancy bluetooth functions it is reliable and holds up to negative temps. My previous greenhouse heater had lots of bells and whistles but murdered a lot of my tropical plants when it was really needed.

Great Heater
This is best heater for your kitchen and/or an office that I have ever found. It has low and high settings as well as just a fan and it's very steady. Works wonderful.

these are infrared heaters, small but mighty, great for greenhouse or conservatory, except you can use these anywhere and inside your house with a Adapter and a surge cut out switch for extra safety. LENCENT 2X World to Australia Travel Adapter, Visitor from USA/Europe/United Kingdom to 3 Pin AU Adapter Plug [USA to AU Adapter, UK to AU Adapter] these have a thermostat built in and cut out when your room meets your set temp. {set on external temp gauge.}. They are a bit noisy except they only run to maintain your infrared level in your home. less than 30 mins at a time so you do not notice the noise very often. so good for my plants that I brought 3. they will heat room to 40 degrees c. Plants are just 21 degrees so plenty of power for snowy conditions.
