Thayers Slippery Elm Lozenges, Cherry, 42 Count

Was recommend by my doctor to start slippery elm for severe chronic cough. I had not much expectations because I has to take inhalers and other cough medication to control my couth, it was wonderful surprise. It did provided some help right away, and after taking it for 4 + weeks I am so far without inhalers!!! It heard to believe but I am and amount of mucus is 80% less . I do take as well tea and capsules, but really enjoy lizenger, it have sweet herbal taste, I would say pleasant, not as many cough herbal products. I can take it as needed, oi ts resolve very fast,so works very good for nigh time. Its definitely worth to try , I am happy I did and took time with it as well . Now it's one of essential products for me !

Whenever I can I look for natural remedies. This is a great one to soothe a scratchy throat. They're a bit gritty and have a very mild flavor. They're not delicious but they're not bad-tasting, either--and I don't need my throat lozenges to be delicious, I just need them to work. And these do. Because of how slippery elm functions, it should be taken a full hour after any vitamins and medications. Taking it sooner affects how meds and vitamins are absorbed--they tend to be absorbed less well, so note the timing of when you use these.

The Slippery Elm lozenges take some getting used to but they work well. I have dry mouth and other than drinking water all day long I haven't found anything else that works as well as these lozenges. The lozenge is crumbly and not at all like a hard candy, it has an initial taste and mouth feel that is unusual but it makes me produce saliva like nothing else. I keep them in my purse as well as in my house. When I have to be in a situation where I'll be doing a lot of talking I make sure to put one in my mouth just before I arrive and I can talk without worrying about my mouth and throat drying out.

I watched a Dr Oz TV segment in which he said he and his family have used this product for sore throat issues for years. I have had slight throat discomfort off and on over the years and Slippery Elm lozenges stop a massive sore throat issue for me. My husband has always been in a band as a singer and he uses slippery elm before performing. Great product. Not like the harsh taste of most of the other lozenge products on the market.

I suffer from constant throat clearing and have been looking for help. I saw these lozenges recommend and bought the original flavor the first time. The originals taste like sawdust, but I got used to the flavor. I saw these online and figured they had to be somewhat better because of the tangerine flavoring and they are!! Much better taste. I can't say that these have helped my throat clearing to go away all together but when I feel like it's really bad, I take one of these and it helps to lessen the urge a bit.

I used to love these when I was younger, as they were very soothing and pleasant-tasting. The taste is still good, but these lozenges now have a chalky consistency that actually irritated my throat...which I didn't need, as I had a cold at the time. I figured maybe this happened because my throat because it was sore and swollen. So I gave them to my mother, who wasn't sick, and she told me that they irritated her throat, as well. I'll be sticking with Luden's cherry cough drops, but at least I got something out of this purchase--I'm using the Thayer's tin to store my USB flash drives.

I was recommended to try this product as treatment for sore throat. I didn't notice any real improvement in my throat. Nothing about the lozenge itself was soothing. If a lozenge can actually physically stress you tho, this is the one to take. It did increase mucus production which in turn made my breathing worse. Its supposed to be cherry but I have yet to eat any other lozenge with such a petrid, non pleasant flavor laced with the aftertaste (okay even during taste) of artifical sweetener. The combination is nauseating. Kerosene tablets would be more pleasing. I can imagine theres a warehouse somewhere with these tins stacked to the ceiling and some poor soul celebrating just to have unloaded a single one.

My mom recently had surgery to remove several cysts from her neck. After the surgery she came down with laryngitis and bronchitis. So you can imagine all the throat pain and discomfort she was having. My Aunt recommended these lozenges. My mom said that they were very good and gave her instant relief. My aunt is really big into homeo pathic medicine and she highly recommends those for anyone who has any type of throat discomfort.

I bought this as recommended for reflux. Trying to have a healthy & natural pregnancy, I thought this would be a good bet. Unfortunately it didn't really touch my reflux, so was unsuitable. The lozenges, they weren't very nice. Not what you'd expect, more powdery and gritty as it dissolved. Flavour was underwhelming.

Doesn't taste like cherry. Great for soothing throat and cough if you're breastfeeding and can't use regular losenges. Got to get over the smell and the first one - then it's tolerable.
