Excellent book

I bought this book for my husband and myself to prepare for a German Shepherd puppy. Our pup is beautiful and very happy, but he definitely has a stubborn streak! This book has been so helpful in preparing for different stages in our dog's life and helping our dog become a well=behaved member of the family. Tank is our "baby boy," and has brought and continues to bring great joy into our lives.

My friend says he wants a GSD. My family has owned several over the past forty five years. I wanted to make sure he was informed as possible, specifically on GSDs and how hard raising a puppy can be. As well as being realistic about a large protective breed that requires lots of socialization. And learning about the shedding. He will need a good vacuum cleaner and broom. Yes they are beautiful and majestic but you need to be prepared before you purchase a GSD versus another breed.

This book is informative yet need a little more research on the breed historically. It also need more how to in many of the subjects and chapters. this book is fine for a beginner with the breed.

It was a present for my niece ( 11 years old ). She loved it. She said it is easy to read and with many useful tips.

It's a great book for someone who has never owned a GSD. I have owned other GSD's but my two daughter's are reading it as she grows and have read most of the book, the youngest is 8 and she can now tell you all about a GSD.
