Hill's Prescription Diet u/d Urinary Care Dry Dog Food, Veterinary Diet, 27.5 lb. Bag

I started my Dalmatian on Hill’s Prescription Urinary Care dog food after she developed her first UTI and urinary crystals. Our veterinarian recommended this formula and provided the prescription, and while I was initially hesitant due to the cost, we decided to commit to it. The kibble itself is fairly large, which is something to be aware of, especially for dogs that prefer smaller pieces. After exclusively feeding this food for the last four years, I can confidently say it has made a huge difference. My Dalmatian has had no further urinary crystals and very few UTIs since starting this diet. She is now five years old, weighs 46 pounds, and is in excellent body condition at a perfect, healthy weight. It does not upset her stomach at all, and she is genuinely excited to eat every meal. Because the kibble is larger, I like to “float” her food by adding water and letting it soften for about 30 minutes before feeding. She eats approximately two cups per day, and this routine has worked very well for us. While this is an expensive dog food, it has been absolutely worth it for managing urinary issues and maintaining her long-term health. If your dog struggles with urinary problems, this food is a solid and reliable option.

Product has literally been life changing for my dog. Our dalmatian had a urinary stone blockage that lead to emergency surgery to save his life. We immediately switched to this food by recommendation from our vet and not only has he not had any new stones, its the only kibble he actually has ever liked.

It really is a great product, it helps prevent crystals and stones in our Dalmatians. It's within a couple dollars as what you would pay at a Vet's office. Our Vet has been out of stock for a while so this was great, being able to find it.

I gave four stars because even after just a few days of using this dog food I haven’t noticed any bleeding. I pray it stays stopped. But I can tell my dog doesn’t like the food that much. But at least she’s eating it. I just hope it only takes this bag and then I can go back to giving her the regular Science Hills diet food. That’s what she usually eats. If anyone has been through this same problem with the stones or the taste of dog food please tell me your experience.

My dog has bladder stones and my vet said this food might dissolve them. Dog loves it. BUT , hard to get. Out of stock more often than in.

This product WAS great until they changed . My dog has had lots of problems with this. He's been on this diet for years. Until he kept getting sick and i could not figure out why after many vet visits. Every time i try to put him on this diet he gets extremely sick. I tried it many many many times. Its a shame. Anyone else have problems since they changed this product?

My dog needs coaxing towards most food. She seems to like this kind.

Tengo un galgo italiano y hace tres meses tuvieron que realizarle una cirugía de emergencia para retirar un cálculo de cistina que había formado en su vejiga, ocasionando que no pudiera orinar. A partir de ese momento, mi perrito tiene que comer estas croquetas por indicación. El primer costal que compré (en petco) todavía era la versión anterior (empaque morado con blanco y traía un border collie), es la primera vez que las ordeno en amazon (y en esta nueva versión) y wow! Las croquetas son mas pequeñas y delgadas y no se si sean reformuladas pero estas las comió con muchísimo gusto, parece que le encantaron (con las anteriores no era así, las comía muy forzosamente). Son algo caras pero valen la pena por mantenerlo sano. Esperamos que en su próximo chequeo esta dieta lo haya ayudado a ya no tener cristales en la orina. Puntos a la marca Hills por tener dos versiones de alimento "Urinary" específicas para cada tipo de cristales/cálculos. :) ¡Recomiendo totalmente!

Es un buen producto, no es sencillo reemplazar un dieta medicada, esta es un buena opción
