What are the case measurements?

The case itself is barely under 7 3/4" by 5 1/2", so my Fire HD7 fits perfect and the case is only a fraction of an inch bigger in length and width.  In thickness: whereas the Fire itself is only 1/4" thick, the protective covers are each also at least 1/4" thick, so the whole thing together is almost one inch thick.  Besides the dimensions of the case, there is a little elastic loop for the included stylus (the stylus has a retractable ink pen on the other side from the soft end).  When the stylus is in the elastic loop, it sticks out almost 1/2".  So if I were trying to fit the whole thing in a square box, the box would have to be 8" x 6" (with the stylus sticking out) x 1".

Will this fit the 4th generation Kindle Fire HD 7?

Yes, my fiance just purchased the latest Kindle Fire HD 7, and this case fits pefectly!  The added stylus/pen that comes with the case is also a nice touch.

How does the Detachable inner sleeve for handheld operation work?  Do you like it?  sleeve reattaches?

Sleeve detaches and reattaches with ease through a large Velcro panel. Bought the case for my daughter's kindle...she loves it!
