Autobiography of Maya Angelou in Ghana.
As always Maya Angelou's eloquence, descriptions and observations are so worth reading. It is about her time in Ghana and full of vivid descriptions of the people, expats and Ghanaians. She confronts and ponders the meaning of home.

Love Maya
I love all of May Angelou's many books that I've read. Her writing is so honest and humbling. She writes about black culture in a way as you can understand, and appreciate her/their struggles. I enjoy her autobiographical writing in books more than the poetry. Since she was a famous poet laureate, it shows you what I know. This book was no more or less excellent than the other books that I have read, I know why the Cage Bird Sings, Me and Mom, Wouldn't take Anything for My Journey Now, etc. etc. She was a leader among women with fantastic accomplishment. I am blessed to have one of signed poems, Our Grandmothers.

a fascinating and beautifully written chapter in Ms Angelou's life
Maya Angelou transports the reader into her own thoughts and the intimate and larger world around her with articulate color.

Maya Angelou's six-volume autobiography series - book 5
My wife is a big fan of Maya Angelou so I got the series for her. She told me that while she still finds Maya's life story fascinating and she enjoyed this book, unlike the first four books in the series, she found this one to be a bit slower and more difficult to get into.

Beautifully written, the amazing Maya Angelou lets you into her world as you travel with her through her journey, from the U.S to Ghana and Europe.

I read this book due to the fact that i had never read any of her work before, but i kept on hearing about her. I saw an interview on Youtube where she briefly spoke about Ghana. Being Ghanaian it was only natural for me to read this. A fantastic book detailing her stay in Ghana. Written in simple to read & humourous character standpoint. There were powerful moments placed all over the book. I particularly enjoyed the moment she described Muhammad Ali & Malcom X almost fighting, due to Malcom X leaving Elijah Muhammad & The Nation...... Great bit of History on Ghanaian Soil.
