Excellent, tactile, snuggly baby toy
This is my grandson's favorite toy, so we bought a duplicate to have at our home. The feet make crunchy noises and are soft enough to grasp, with one or two also making noise like a muted bell. His horns are a silicon like substance perfect for gnawing on to sooth sore, teething gums and his body is fluffy and soft for snuggles.

Lamaze is the Best!
Purchased for a baby gift as a memory of one that was given to us for our baby fifteen years ago. Mortimer the Moose was one of our favorites for many years. It is durable and a perfect size for travel. You can't go wrong with Lamaze toys.

Our 4 month old loves this toy
This has quickly become our 4 month old’s favorite toy! He loves to suck on it, all the different textures and sounds, and with his teeth starting to come in the antlers have been perfect. It goes everywhere with us. I was skeptical about putting it in the washer but after reading another review gave it a try and it washed just fine, antlers and all. I threw it in the dryer for about 10 minutes on low and then hung to dry the rest of the way.

The Best Infant Toy!
UPDATE: For those concerned about washing the toy. I've seen a few reviews stating you cannot wash it. I always washed mine on delicate cycle with Dreft and air dried it. Washed up real nice. No issues. Mortimer the Moose was a hit with my daughter who is only 3 months old but VERY active and attentive. The moose has so many nice colors to attract my daughter's attention. In fact, as soon as she saw the moose, she smiled and kicked. Given the size of the moose (fairly large), it is not a problem for her to handle it since there are so many places she can hold on to. She is easily able to grip onto the mooses legs and/or "ring" tail (the tail of the moose is 2 textured rings, which makes for easier handling with little ones that have such small fingers). The ears are gummy and great for teething babies. But for my 3 month old who has no teeth just yet, she is content to suck on the mouth of the moose which is soft, instead. The nice thing about this is I don't have to worry about the fur coming off and her choking on it. This moose is wonderful for her motor skills. I like the fact that it is all-in-one--a chew toy (ears are gummy); a rattle (2 hoofs rattle), a crinkler (two hoofs crinkle when squeezed); has play rings (tail is made up of 2 colorful, textured rings); a stuffed animal (something to hold that's soft and cuddly); the scarf crinkles; the body of the moose has a squeak toy inside, so when you press the body it makes a squeaking noise; and last but not least, it even has a hook (ring shaped with opening) to allow you to hang the moose any where you'd like. For the price, it's a wonderful gift, a great deal and will sure to be a hit with the infants! (BTW, even my 3 year old loved it!)

Moose vs. Peacock --> MOOSE WINS!
We bought this for our baby and also received the Lamaze peacock as a gift. Our baby definitely prefers the moose. We started him off with the peacock since it's a little smaller, but he never played with it much. At first we thought he was too young to appreciate it so kept placing the peacock in his lap and shaking it encouragingly at him. But he continued to ignore it. Finally, spurred by my friend (who told me her baby was reaching for toys that have a ring on one end), I busted out the moose, which has rings on its butt, and offered it encouragingly to our little boy. He still won't reach for it, but he definitely loves it, grabs onto it when we put it in his lap, and stares at it intently when it's not in his lap. He will play with it and wrestle it, and my husband told me that our nanny goes to the bedroom to find it for him all the time because she also noticed that he likes it. In hindsight, we think he likes the moose better because it's easier for him to handle. The spindly legs are easy for small hands to wrap around, and he likes hanging onto the scarf. He chews on the antlers, and the nose, and yes, the butt. The two rings on the butt make a clinking sound that he also likes and he hangs onto that part as well. The peacock is a little too bulky we think and doesn't have any easy-to-grab parts besides the ring, which now that I think about it is the only part he ever played with. He'd grab the ring and put his mouth on it. Perhaps we will revisit the peacock when he's older to play with the different parts of the tail, but for any kid who likes noisy toys and has basic motor skills of grabbing things and putting it in his/her mouth, this moose is a hit. Note: this toy is MACHINE WASHABLE(!!!). It says so on the tag and makes me very happy. Our peacock says "surface wash only." We haven't machine-washed him yet (but we plan to). I did rinse him under the sink and let him air dry before handing him to our kid and he fared beautifully.

I think the moose is adorable, but my 3-month old doesn't seem that interested in it. He prefers stuffed animals that have a more obvious smile and eyes that can all be seen while looking straight on rather than from a side angle (like the Baby Einstein Octoplush). Maybe he'll like it better as he gets older. UPDATE: I was right...In just a few weeks, with more brain development, my baby is WAY more interested in the moose now. He really likes touching the crinkly feet and staring at the different patterns/colours. The rings make this toy versatile, and I use this as a mobile attached to various things around the house (the canopy of his Uppababy stroller; the bar of the jolly jumper; his Baby Einstein play mat). He also seems to like stroking the soft fur.

I bought this toy for my son when he was 3 months old. Initially he didn’t show much interest but now at 5 months he loves playing with this toy. He loves the crinkly noise it makes. Only negative is the price and the long delivery time.

This was a present for our 6 month old Niece who already has one of this range of products. We fell in love with it as soon as it was delivered and she fell in love with it as soon as it was unwrapped! The teether antlers are fantastic to chew - sorry to 'gum', he is a good size for her to grasp easily and the different colours, patterns and textures are good to talk to her about. Overall a lovely toy for children of around this age.
