If Static Cling Tint Is What You're After, THIS Is The Best - BY FAR!
What a difference between Gila's Static Cling tint and their main competitor! I first bought the Black Magic static cling tint and tinted both of the front-side windows of my XTS. I was NOT happy with how it looks after it's on the glass. It has a purplish hue to it when you're in the car, and it's hazy; your view to the outside is obscured. A query to others who have bought it informed me that those two factors never go away. So I decided to try the Gila tint, and I am so glad that I did. For one thing, it went on Much easier, and faster. I don't know why...it just did. Further, it looks (from inside the car) dramatically clearer, and there is no purple haze (great song...but not what you want in window tint). From the outside of the car, it's considerably darker than the Black Magic product, like limo tint, but from the inside, there is no problem seeing outside. Visibility is not impaired. I must add that if you REALLY want the window tint job you do to turn out the way you wish.....Don't think you can figure it out for yourself. Tinting windows is nothing less than an art form, and those who are really good at it and make their living doing it, have done it hundreds or thousands of times. Take some time, and watch some YouTube videos about window tinting before you try to do it yourself. The time spent watching Pros do it will be well worth it, and with this product you should be able to do it yourself, with an outcome you will be happy with. I just thought I'd take the time to write this review while I'm here, buying another roll of the Gila tint, so I can yank the other product off of my front windows and replace with Gila's Static Cling Tint. I highly recommend it.

Used in minivan as kid shade - works great!!
I bought this cling (Gila JS242 Peel and Cling Super Limo Black 5% VLTStatic Cling Glare Control Automotive Window Tint) for our new 2016 Toyota Sienna minivan. The van’s rear windows are all tinted by the manufacture, but they aren’t very dark (maybe 35%?) and my kids were melting in the afternoon sun. I’ve always used those ‘baby shade/clings’ on my rear windows, but they were not near big enough to cover the windows-the 2nd row windows on the van are huge- over 37” wide and 20” long! Please note, I wasn’t trying to make this look “professional” – I just wanted my kids to be shaded. For the install: because of how the van interior is designed, I wasn’t able to utilize the company’s “apply to the outside and cut to shape” method in their video. So I used a large piece of artist paper and traced the interior window outline the best I could, and then cut the tint from that outline. I had bought GILA's recommended liquid solution/razor/squeegee set and totally used it – the razor to cut and the spray and squeegee to apply. I mostly followed the directions in the video: spraying the window, moving it around easily, then squeegeeing it on. I LOVE LOVE the results! I didn’t have enough to do the 3rd row rear windows (just barely!), so I’ll have to buy another roll, but $30 to shade my kids and keep them happy? Sooo worth it! Also, both windows roll down just fine with the cling on. It’s only been about a month, so I can’t attest to how long they’ll last, but they’re great right now. The only worry I have is the window has a slight curve, which made putting the cling up a little tricky – in just one spot, it didn’t want to stick to the curve. With a little extra attention, it did finally cling to the window, and it’s holding up just fine so far. If it starts coming away from the window, I’ll do an update. Highly recommend! 1/20/17: just wanted to update that the clings are still holding up great. Not peeling, no problems at all. Also, I installed one side 'backward' - I put the cling on inside out. I realized my mistake when I was cleaning fingerprints off one day - it's different texture than the other window. It LOOKS the same, but it's not as smooth feeling. Anyway, THAT window is holding up just fine too. So even with my user-error, these are great clings! :)

Very good product to put on your windows!
It's a very good product for your vehicle windows! I've put it on the front sides. The view from inside is a little bit blurry, but it's not a problem to view incoming traffic, cyclists etc. It's very easy to put on the windows, it's even a little bit elastic. I have no problem to roll up and down my windows, it stays on perfectly and do not scratch, just like regular tint! Cut it with a pair of scissors. It comes with a white plasticized protection on it that you can use to make a template of your windows and then cut your tint to the perfect size! It has a blueish tint to it, but from the outside it looks black. The heat rejection is lesser then the peel and cling plus. For a few dollars more, get the "plus" ones. I got the 35% plus on the windshield, and it has a brown color exactly like the SunTek tint and a great heat rejection.

Does the job!
“5% tint, so you can’t see inside my windows” I watched some YT videos and found a guy recommending this along with his install step by step instructions. Just finished installing (2-3hrs+). Worked out perfect! I give myself a 8/10 on the install. The only hard part is on the inside of the smaller corner windows. I recommend going slow and using some scissors to make small trim cuts so it’ll fit. The weather stripping can be a be tough to get under if you have extra length on the edges. But all in all, it worked. I might redo some of those smaller corner windows later on. But it’ll do for now. I have a Subaru crosstrek and I used 3 rolls of the 5% for all all 4doors, corner windows, the rear window, and had some extra strips and a few squares left over for “red-dos”. ProTip: def do in a shaded area with little to no wind. Use plenty of soapy water and clean windows before applying. If you have a lot of time, you can use a metallic marker to mark out the lines then cut on the floor (over cardboard) so you don’t have to make the cuts while it’s on the window. Just cut cut on the inside of the lines you mark. Go slow and plan it out. Hope this holds up during the hot summer and when I use the windows! *buying the spatula kit def helps!

Very easy to use and quality is acceptable. It is much easier to apply than those unbranded adhesive films. You can find some installation videos on YouTube before you do it. Highly recommended.

Update: Aug 2020 I peel off the film and reuse it on the small windows on the cars. After 3 month is still look just as good as new. You need to use soapy water on both side of the film to apply the film or it will not stick. People who are complaining about the product not sticking is not using soapy water. I try a small piece without soapy water and it just fall off after a few days but with the soapy water is still good after 3 months. Upgrade to 5 star because the product works good and the seam problem was refunded by the manufacturer. The cloudy look is gone when apply to a tinted car window. Spend 20 min preparing the surface than started to install the window tint. Half way in the installation found there was a seam. (Did not know it was a seam until I remove the green tape.) So the cling is 24" X 2 and 24" x 4' 5". During the installation I found the window tint would stretch a bit, not sure what will happen after a few days if the stretch will stay or you end up with a gap. Overall installation is easy if you use soapy water on the surface and the tint first this will allow you to move the tint to your position before you squeegee out the water and bubbles. The tint have cloudy look to it. Overall I will not get a chance to test it because of the seam. I will need to return it.

Blurry, used the suggested application fluid. If you look at the full instructions on there website it says blurriness will go away in about 10 days, been over a month still blurry. Also is blue in colour, would not recommend.
