I've been annihilated! - Well I kept seeing this series pop up as a recommendation and then it popped up in one of my emails on sale.. I grabbed it because it was the boxed set and I'm glad because I couldn't put my kindle down! The way these books ended it would've killed me if I had to wait! The ending STILL killed me because of Tank and Lisa's story that I am excited to read about! First let me start off by the premise of this story is the same as others- rich man with his hang ups, sweet innocent girl trying to make her way into her own with her hang ups and then there's the supporting characters.. Here's where those similarities as other stories end... I absolutely loved the banter between Blackwell and each person in the book! She's not the main main characters but she's a very close second! Alex and Jennifer- were great characters and I enjoyed reading their stories in the way that you would hope stuff would get discussed and death with.. Not lingering over time that makes for a huge misunderstanding on top of one thing and another to prolong unnecessary agony.. Things got discussed, expressed and dealt with.. Jennifer is real and I enjoyed her character.. I LOVED how she made her mind up in the beginning and was like I'm done.. Don't want you and that was it... Alex had to work for her.. That was pretty sweet... I liked that.. The suspense portion of the novel was great.. It held my attention the entire time and it kept me guessing.. I thought I knew whodunit.. But every time I thought something I was wrong! Great book, great story and will definitely continue reading these stories! I suggest waiting until the whole series is completed so you can get the boxed set and just read.. It was worth the wait! Review: This is a special kind of love. - This is the story of Alex & Jennifer. Alex inherited Wenn Enterprises from his father. Jennifer applied for a secretarial job, even though she has a degree in business. She had a falling out with the woman who interviewed her. She met Alex in the elevator and didn’t know who he was and spilled her story to him. She got a call the next day to come in for an Executive Assistant position for him. It lands up that Alex needs an escort for functions. She accepts it. She’s making a phenomenal salary, and free clothes and jewelry. She is going to pose as his girlfriend. There is chemistry between them. Through all the walls they set up for themselves, and all the ups and down they go through, all prevails in the end. I loved the two main charactes, and the secondary ones. I have to say that the woman who interviewed her in the beginning, Blackwell, was a truly special character. There is a lot of action in this box set. There is love, devotion, suspense, mystery, and most of all love. This is a great box set, and it’s one you won’t be able to put down. Christina Ross keeps you engrossed from beginning to end. Moving on to read more of her books.

Nice story...
Instead of rehashing the story, I'm going to list what Iiked about these books, because there really isn't much to dislike. First of all, I'm glad I bought the "Complete Vols. 1-4" since this new trend towards sequels released months apart just annoys me. I read a lot, so by the time the next book comes out I don't remember everything that went on in the previous one! As far as the story, it's fine. SPOILER ALERT** It's very predictable, even with the cliffhangers. Ok, come on, who thinks that Alex actually died? I didn't think so. Also, the fairy godmother in the form of the HR Director Blackwell is nice. The development of the relationship with Jennifer is very sweet. Also, Jennifer's interaction with her roomate is wonderful. Lastly, the hero is not a jerk - ever. Well, maybe one minor slip but it's in the very beginning. He has no skeletons in the closet, no punches pulled. He simply loves Jennifer and tells her early on, and then remains faithful. One of the things I really really like is that the sex scenes are less graphic as the story progresses. I don't know about you, but I find myself skipping them entirely when its the same old thing over and over again. These books don't do that. They refer to the hero and heroine making love, but it doesnt go into who touched who where, etc. This entire story could have ended after 3 books, and it seems tht the fourth is almost dragged out a bit. I do agree that there had to be a resolution to find out who the bad guy was. I'm almost disappointed to see that the whole crew is back on November. I love a HEA. I guess we just have to wait and find out what happens next, and hope that there's one, final HEA for Jennifer and Alex.

Wow! What a roller coaster ride of romance and suspense!
"Annihilate Me:Boxed Set" by Christina Ross was a wonderful roller coaster ride of steamy romance and suspense. Ms. Ross perfectly describes the ups and downs encountered in a new relationships, especially when between a sexy hot billionaire CEO and a scrappy female business grad from working class Maine. Add to that the trauma from past relationships that leads to misunderstandings and trust issues , there fireworks between main characters Alex and Jennifer, ignite the pages (and the sheets). Next Christina includes the backroom deals and manipulation of the corporate business world to increase the mystery and drama to the love story. Then all you can do is hold on as she takes you through the twists and turns, ups and downs, edge of your seat , writing that has you screaming at characters like they are there in your living room, while laughing at the antics of numerous supporting friends(characters) and crying over some of the most beautiful expressed declarations of love at the same time. As is necessary in all well written romance there is a HEA. Because of it being available in a boxed set there are no cliffhangers ( thank the heavens or I would have really been screaming!) I also think and added bonus was the inclusion of the plight and perils of being an indie author through the eyes of Jennifer's best friend, Lisa. Well Done Christina! You have me wishing my list of "To be read" books was not so long or I would be starting "Unleash Me " series right now! Thanks to Kindle Unlimited I won't go broke before I finish all the books of yours I have on my list!

Well written and engaging
WOW... I usually read books that are shorter, easier to get through in a shorter period of time. I may not have chosen to read this if I had realized how long it was and how many volumes it covered. However, that would have been a drastic mistake as this was a fantastic read. I'd sit down to read and before I knew it ours had gone by. I couldn't wait to get back to it to find out what happened and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the characters of Alex, Jennifer, Lisa, Tank and of course, who could forget Mrs. Blackwell.

Started off strong but petered out into something clique and ends on a weak note.
I like a good romance every now and then, especially a romance with strong personality characters. Even more so when there's something else going on besides all the romance and sexual tension. Annihilate Me starts off well, Volume 1 introduces Jennifer as a strong willed, sexy yet equally smart woman trying to get her start working in New York City fresh out of business school. She's been struggling to make ends meat with her best friend author. Insert scene where she meets hot, successful guy Alex who she quickly develops an attraction to and let the budding romance bloom from there. Of course not without it's hiccups and personality clashes between both Jennifer and Alex but that sums up the first Volume and a half. After that, that's when the story begins to fall apart for me. After these two hit it off then the author decides to add a mystery suspense element that is approached with such ridiculousness it gets frustrating to read. By the 4th book I lost complete interest in the story. In the last two volumes of the series our characters are shot at and have their lives threatened repeatedly. Cue completely unbelievable scenes where Jennifer and Alex out smart and out gun trained killers. At some point Jennifer and Alex retreat to his private island then they come back repeat a few more times of being threatened trying to catch the bad guy then everyone comes out smelling like roses. I just thought the whole mystery part of who's out to get them go from being filler to turning into a major plot point. It just wasn't well done. For someone who's so smart the minute she lands a billionaire boyfriend Jennifer loses a good deal of common sense and does things that make you wonder how on earth is this girl still alive. How about we don't make her go out on to a secluded roof top to sneak in some alone time with Alex when they're trying to catch a killer. Also if you aren't sure who's on the other side of a door maybe you shouldn't open it. The way she kept bringing up her being a "Maine girl" as if it's supposed to signify she has some sort of reputation to uphold irked me every time I read it. "Maine girls don't run away from trouble." "Maine girls tell it like it is." I might not have seen the arrogance in the first book but it's reinforced throughout the series. And it's disappointing because there were a few moments where you root for her and being the odd person out in such a different world. Then it's shattered when she asks for another martini and feels fine after shooting a guy dead. For someone who didn't want to run from trouble you'd think she'd be more proactive in trying to discover who was after her and Alex. Alas, she just passes the info onto her security team and Alex then finds a pretty dress to act as bait. I would consider getting krav maga lesson or something because when you get shot at and constantly sent death threats you might consider doing something that gives you a semblance of taking control of the situation. There are some great characters, I fell in love with Ms. Blackwell. She might not be from Maine but she's earned her titles all the same. Her exchanges with Jennifer, Lisa or just about anyone were heartfelt, equal parts a mother's hug and venomous when necessary. Watching her development through the series makes me wish that some parts of her rub off on Jennifer before she turns into one of those blithering trophy wives once she's married to Alex. Overall I felt this series started out strong but had a weak finish. I feel like I'd just be setting myself up for disappointment were I to continue with the other books in this series.

Alex, Jennifer, Blackwell, Tank & Lisa
I have a new family that includes these additions! This story is so amazing that I have read the series least 12 times from beginning to end. Each character is important to the development of the story. Blackwell is a mother figure to each of the main characters. She imparts wisdom, gives love unconditionally and adds continuous humor throughout the story while her own heart is healing. I enjoyed the way that Alex was so confident of his feelings for Jennifer but I felt that it was unrealistic of Jennifer's character to give herself to Alex for the first time, yet was unwilling to refer to him as her boyfriend. Lisa and Tank fell in love at a snail's pace (that's not a problem, slow is good). I wish they had more interaction in the story. The shopping for Couture in Bergdorf Goodman was always hilarious as well as the back and forth between Jennifer and Tootie! This series is a favorite and a must read.

Tough Maine Girl Meets NY Billionaire
Overall, I enjoyed this series. I admired the strong female characters and sensitive males. There were characters to love and to hate, romance and mystery, and serious topics and humor throughout. It is good escape reading. I’m not a prude by any means, but I did not like the extended play by play of the lovemaking. It’s way too descriptive and long. I encourage readers to continue with Annihilate Me Holiday book too.

Good series
I loved reading this series. I’m also glad that I read the whole boxset because the whole story just flowed well. I didn’t even notice when one book finished and the other started, I was that drawn in. I loved the characters. Jennifer is fantastic. She’s got so much wit and sass, and I loved how she treated some of those overly rich people at those parties. She made a point that being rich was no excuse not to have manners. I loved how she was smart too. She actually earned her job with Alex. I loved her devotion towards Alex as well. Alex was also a brilliant character. I loved him. He just wanted to get on with his work and progress his business when he first met Jennifer. She took him by surprise. I loved how he was with her, and I loved seeing their relationship grow. They were brilliant together and their devotion was second to none. You could see the love between them, and after everything they both went through in the past, it was satisfying to see them happy. Lisa, Blackwell and Tank were also great characters. They each had their own personalities which added to the plot. The storyline was good. It built up well and left you wondering until the last moment. It developed at a good pace and flowed well. Even though the parties could be a little repetitive, they got to the point. They added to the story instead of repeating themselves. It was done well. Overall, I loved reading this series and really enjoyed it. I loved Alex and Jennifer. Jessreviews.co.uk

easy reading
first 2 books had been fun and entertaining, then the author keeps repeating herself. Language level is easy reading. I enjoyed the books on a long train trip - they were perfect for that. In the end it got a bit boring and she wasted way too many words on the dressing - describing over and over the same story.

High Suspense
I've not been a fan of stories that drag over four books and Christina Ross isn't an author I'd read before. However this got me from page one and I just couldn't put it down. Loved the character's, so expertly drawn that I had no problem seeing them. The plot was convoluted enough to sustain interest and the build up to the finale was well done. Tank was an interesting character from moment he entered the scene and I'm looking forward to reading his story next. Thoroughly good read, highly recommended.
