Whether you are an accomplished fountain pen user or a beginner the Lamy brand should be on your radar. Source is always a consideration for me and I found that Creoly USA Amazon has a large selection of Lamy products at a good price. I had a question about my recent order with this pen set, their customer service was quick and professional. Creoly researched and answered my question so that I could move forward with my evaluation of this Lamy Joy Calligraphy set. I purchased the set to experiment with calligraphy. What I learned is that it not only helped me learn the basics it also added another way for me to give personality to my letters, notes and journal. Lamy quality and good engineering at a very affordable price! I recommend this three nib set to all fountain pen users.

I bought this pen to replace a 30 year old Osmiroid set. This is a nice, smooth pen, and I like it a lot. So many improvements have been made in 30 years in ink calligraphy fountain pens! Who knew? The ink flows nicely, does not dry and cake up in the nib. I installed the converter immediately, so I can use my own inks. Wow, it has a piston! no more squeezing! Cleaner hands! It holds a lot of ink, which apparently can be left in the chamber- no need to empty and clean out the pen everytime you use it! My only hesitation with this pen: I am not sure I really like the three faceted sides of the pen barrel. I think I might have preferred a round barrel so I could grip in my own way anywhere on the barrel. Overall, a nice set, I am now into the modern pen world, buy it if you think you need all 3 nibs, this way you save a little money and you don't need to change out the metal nibs, they are already set into their own little sections. And don't forget the Z24 converter too!

I love writing with these fountain pens. You do not need to swap out nibs. There are three different nibs on three seperate feeders and you just need to attach that part into the handle. Also, the seller is in Germany but the package arrived surprisingly quickly!

These pens and their nibs are excellent writing instruments. I found myself enjoying the 1.1 and 1.5mm italic nibs the most. The only caveat with this set is that the Lamy nibs are more of a rounded, smooth nib. This makes them excellent for every day writing--benefiting from decent line variation. However, due to the rounded and smoothed nature of the nib tips, I would not recommend this for anyone who is interested in primarily doing calligraphy. I had to manually sharpen the 1.5mm nib in order to square away the edges to practice slow, precise calligraphic strokes. Bottom line: great pens for line variation in everyday writing--not the best pens for calligraphy students.

So, I received the pen set. I immediately tried it out. I wanted to take the pen between home and my work - as I love writing with calligraphy pens - and liked the idea of the different tips all in one set. But the big issue I have with this - is the pen is large, the case is awesome, but the form inside the case is formed for the pen unused - uncapped - and so one has to keep the pen separate outside the case with the cap on. It defeats the purpose of the case - in my opinion .. even if I weren't going to carry the tips around with me.. one cannot store the pen in the case .. with the cap on - and if the cap is off - then the ink will dry up. The pen is okay - but I have used less costly pens with almost the same results. I don't know.. I was just disappointed. I sent it all right back - as the case part .. was an issue. The pen is nice and all .. don't get me wrong.. but for the money.. I have used pens that compare in quality .. costing less. Thanks..

One of the nicest things about the Lamy Joy Calligraphy set, is that you can interchange the nibs with any Lamy Safari. The price of the set, minus the cost of 3 nibs, works out to 10 bucks for the feeds and bottom end, plus the nice case, and a few cartridges. I don't remember whether this came with a converter, or if I bought it separately. Anyhow, a good value, and the nibs in my set are very smooth, and fairly wet with every ink I've tried it with.

Beautiful pen that has good weight to it in your hand. Writes smoothly. I'm a beginning calligrapher and a classmate suggested it--we all tried it and everyone wanted one. I'm glad I ordered it--I'll use it for years!

Not thrilled at all about this fountain pen. Doesn't deliver ink that great :( the ink is not great quality.

One of the best pen for calligraphy. Nibs are smooth and ink flow is fully controlled. Cap fits very well on the main body that gives great balance in writing. Keep up the great job!

I use this pen every day! The pen makes me slow my writing speed down which has improved my handwriting, which has then improved my handwriting when I use a normal pen and write at normal speed
