The blades are sharp, and overall the scraper is fairly solid. The nut has to be tightened down more than I would like, since it tended to come loose with scraping. Pretty dangerous, so need to ensure the nut is tightened down and check it frequently. I may look at getting a locking nut or a better locking washer to prevent this issue.

I like the comfortable grip and longer shaft. Interchangeable blades fasten securely. Blades all had burrs on the upper surface, but a few strokes with a ceramic sharpening rod fixed that. Some blade edges are a little sharper than others, one capable of shaving off fine wood curls, others just scraping a powder, but for removing old laquer, varnish, or grunge, that's fine. Overall, a very useful addition to my woodshop.

Good scrappers for hard to get to places and odd shapes. I have an 125 year old house, with nice woodwork under layers of decades of bad painting jobs and mechanical neglect. Take for example, old time wooden entryway doors. Nice old doors but requires removing old paint to bare wood. The work to remove pain on flat surfaces goes pretty fast using expensive carbide scrappers. The time consuming part is getting paint removed from recessed and contour surfaces. These scrappers do the job. The scraping material is steel, no carbide, so the edgess of these scrappers require sharpening frequently to be effective, using a small Mill file and medium grit and fine grit oil stone. Great scrappers.

An indispensable tool for any floor, wall, and ceiling project that requires scraping paint, varnish, resurfacing. I have been working on hardwood floors and the blades have stayed razor sharp. The fact that they also sell replacement blades is a bonus. This tool beats any of the expensive name brand scrapers.
