To secure money for his family that will support them for the rest of their lives, Milos, a retired adult film star from Serbia, plunges once more into the depths of pornographic production only to find that his new mysterious and menacing employer has unthinkable terrors in store for him. Confrontational, shocking, uncompromising and absolutely unforgettable, A Serbian Film ranks alongside the likes of Requiem For A Dream, Videodrome and Irreversible as one of the most provocative and brilliant films of its time. Special Features include: Exclusive introduction from director, Srdjan Spasojevic; 12 page booklet featuring essay from horror critic, Alan Jones; Filmmakers insight. WARNING: THIS FILM CONTAINS EXTREME CONTENT Review: Great product - Good product exactly what it says on the cover Review: Boring, pretentious drivel... - Bought this out of curiosity and wished I didn't. Absolute garbage. In a rambling introduction the Director (if that's what he considers himself, fair enough!) goes on about the film being an allegory for various problems which exist in society. I almost spat out my dinner laughing but decided to continue with the film...ho ho ho what a pile of smelly poop this film is. I'm reluctant to even call it a film- the ramblings of a twisted, delusional fool looking for attention maybe- it's trash. Skip it.

A very friendly Warning
Consider this not exactly as a review, but as a warning from a friend, in case you haven't seen this film yet and are curious about it. There are already many good reviews here dealing with the cinematographic, technical, cultural etc aspects of this film, so I won't add anything new there. This is not about the film, but about you, the potential viewer. As many other reviewers, I've seen a significant amount of "extreme" or strong horror movies. Fear and shock are powerful emotions, and films are a safe and entertaining way of experiencing them. Some of them left a deep impression in me, sometimes for a few days, but that eventually vanishes. With this film, it's a different story. It may leave permanent scars in your mind that will ruin some of the best experiences of your life, such as witnessing the birth of your child or lying in bed caressing a son's hair. Violent and obscene thoughts will keep intruding, and it's scary for me to think how much this can affect some people. If you think that you may belong to this group, don't risk it. There are many good films out there, and you may go on living without watching this one. Otherwise, go and watch it, but just remember that images can not be erased from your brain afterwards. This is why this is so different. The fear does not come during the movie. It comes after. And it is too real.

Don't buy the 95 minute version
Buying the 95 minute version of this film is like going to the store and buying a carton of eggs, only when you get home and begin to make breakfast, you find out all your eggs are just empty shells without egg inside them. If you remove the shock value from a shock film, it becomes worthless because it serves no purpose. If you really want to see this film the way the makers intended, buy the 104 minute version. Amazon also has a 3 disc limited edition set that features the uncut bluray (with English subs), the uncut DVD and a cd soundtrack. It will set you back a bit more than this version but....as they say, you get what you pay for...

Weird and wonderful
I got this film on import bluray as with all shock horror violence films that's why they are made even in the eighties we had video nasties and we still do it's just that attitudes have changed to what is acceptable and not if you don't want to watch this kind of material then why buy it then moan about how sick a film is, don't buy it if you don't wanna be grossed out, I enjoyed this little slice of sickness and I've seen some crap in my day, try vomit gore trilogy that'll make your day
