Hawk Performance HB453Z.585 Performance Ceramic Street Brake Pads

Had brembos before and they dusted like crazy. Went with akebono ceramics. What a mistake. They screeched so bad as soon as I installed them. After 2 weeks I threw them away and ordered these hawk. It's now been about a month and a half and I love these. Zero dusting that I've noticed and zero noise. Best decision I've made with brakes.

I first went to camaro5.com to get the DIY instructions on pad replacements. Then I found the link for this pads in the same website, which then I found the best price on amazon. This pads are literally dust and noise free! But for best results make sure to turn the discs!! I wouldn't recommend just swapping pads. Pads come with grease, and make sure to use it. Overall this pads are worth what they cost, they are great!

UPDATE 7.15.19 -I take back the low brake dust statement these are just as bad as the OEM brakes. I purposely didn’t wash my car for a week to see how much build up I would get. I have been downshifting more to reduce the amount of braking I have to do. When i do brake I do it aggressively since that seems to not create the squeal. This also might be the reason for the amount of brake dust. I ordered a new pair of these to see if I got a defective pair. I’ll update this review once new pair arrives. UPDATE 7.8.19 No changes.. The squealing is worse than before even after 600 miles of driving. I will be returning these. Hope this review helps. - easy to install. - bedding process was simple. - after 2 days of driving they are starting to squeal at 5-10MPH braking. Not sure what the deal is. I’m going on a 600 mile trip tomorrow and will update this review after that. If the squeal persists I will be returning these and purchasing Akebono or OEM.

I purchased these pads to go along with Centric High Carbon 125 rotors. Pedal feel is great and they seem to have better bite. I changed only the front rotors and pads and kept the stocks on the rear since they didn't need to be replaced yet. Thus i can compare noise level and dust. These have slightly more noise than stocks and they have noticeably more dust than stocks. That's not to say they produce an enormous amount of dust, just that compared to stocks, it is more. I normally clean my wheels every 2 weeks but could get away with waiting 3 weeks. With these news pads and rotors I HAVE to clean them every 2 weeks to keep them looking presentable. Overall I am happy with these and will buy the same combination when it is time to replace the rears, but i will have to clean them more often. EDIT: After having these for 11 months, I have more thoughts. The pedal has become softer, and the initial bite isn't as good as it used to be. However they still have excellent stopping power. I routinely find myself stopping in a shorter distance than I anticipated with not much petal effort. It's hard to explain, but when you apply the brakes you can sense when you'll come to a stop and adjust the pressure to the brakes accordingly. With this setup I end up overestimating when I'll come to a stop. That's how good they are.

When I OEM front pads wore down in my Brembo calipers, I started researching performance pads that would not leave as much dust as the OEM pads. These pads were them. They installed very easily and actually seemed to have improved my stopping ability. I also love that I have WAY less brake dust on my wheels. After hundreds of miles, my wheels are not black, but rather a light tan.

Installed on my 2010 2SS RS Camaro. The squealing is absolutely ridiculous! People literally laugh when I pull up because of these brakes. My kids chuckle everytime I come in the garage and say my car sounds like a whining girl. The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1...they stop great. Cliffs notes: 1. Stop amazingly well! 2. Loud squeaking that will make people look and laugh. 3. Read above...seriously it is embarrassing! 4. Lots of dust on my wheels! I will not purchase these again!

Great pads for the SS Camaro Brembo calipers. The bedding process was quick and easy just like the installation. I used the supplied grease and have had no squealing with very minimal brake dust. I have had them on for over 4 weeks now with no issues.

First off, the image is wrong. This part number is for the yellow box ceramic pads and that is indeed what I received. After 500 miles I have no issues with braking. Stopping feels comparable to the brembo pads that came with my '12 Mustang GT, but I no longer have to clean my aftermarket wheels every 2 days! Highly recommend to anyone looking for the same stopping power but with less mess.
