Hello my friend. Yes, you need to used with water. 50# is coarse grinding. 3000# is fine grinding. If you granite counters are coarse, please polishing from 50# to 3000#. If you granite counters are a little shine and you just want to polishing it to more shine, please use 1500# and 3000#. There are no standard methods for the instructions.
