Mounce is an excellent author. It is easy to learn up to the verbs. When combined with the online videos it is very easy to get a good basic knowledge of biblical Greek

Good tool for student and teacher.

I like the the help I receive in learning the substance of each chapter of the primary textbook. To complete hands on lessons and it re-enforces the recognition of the language under focus that equips me to read in the original language as understood by the people then.

I bought this book so I could learn Biblical Greek. It worked perfectly as a starting point for the Greek language. I would definitely buy again.

If you pair this with modern pronunciation resources, elsewhere, then it is a good layout to learn about grammatical rules. The problem, though, is that several non-modern pronunciations of Greek letters by the author makes learning how to speak the language a burden. He pronounces Greek words the way seminarians perceive that the ancients may have spoken. Well, that's very academic, but not useful. Pronouncing Greek words with the purpose of communicating in today's actual pronunciation is wise!

Helped with understanding Greek

Lets face it, anybody who wants to learn Biblical (or Koine) Greek has to really be serious about it. It is one of the most complex languages to get your head around. The basics are hard enough...learn a new alphabet, but then you've got to get to get to grips with case-endings, 24 forms of the definite article, then those dreaded Greek verbs... But this book, (get the workbook too) will help. Mounce teaches on a 'need to know now' basis, so doesn't try and cram your head full of stuff not necessary for the present task, this basic knowledge is then built upon from those initial beginnings. There is access to plenty of on-line lectures too, all of which should help. Good luck.

This is a really helpful tool to just sit and scribble out my answers as I track through the main textbook. Due to a track1 and 2 some of the middle exercises and chapters have twice as much to practice with. The workbook has been a great blessing and I would say it is a necessary accompaniment to the Textbook. The answer key is easily found online on Bill's website and instructions on finding it and other useful helps are in the main textbook. THANKS BILL (and team)
