Great pump for tight water well
This sump pump is great. This was my third pump that I purchased . My water well is very narrow measuring at interior for 11 inches diameter . None of the other pumps would work as the float would get stuck and make pump run indefinitely (even those that claim to be “tight space friendly “. This pump fits just right , it’s silent , expels water outside very quick and effectively . Best of all it comes with 3 year warranty unlike the competition at only one year . Highly recommend

Well built, easy to install
I recently installed the WAYNE CDU790 1/3 HP Submersible Sump Pump in my basement, and I couldn't be more impressed! This pump is incredibly reliable and does an amazing job keeping my basement dry. The heavy-duty construction with cast iron and stainless steel feels solid and durable, which gives me peace of mind knowing it's built to last. One of the standout features for me is how quiet it operates—no loud buzzing or noise that you often get with sump pumps. It’s perfect for keeping things peaceful in the basement, even when it’s running. Installation was a breeze! The pump comes with an integrated vertical float switch, which made the setup straightforward, even for a DIYer like me. I had it up and running in no time.

Great pump for clean water
I have a sump pit in my back yard, to remove rainwater to the street about 100' away. This pump does that no problem, even though it's only recommended for inside use. The problem is the intake ring is a bunch of small openings, so any solids in the water clog those openings, dramatically reducing flow. I'll give this another one or two rainstorms to see if that issue remains. If so, I'll replace with a sewage grinder pump instead of this incorrectly-purchased indoor model that seems ideal for dewatering a basement.

Best Sump Pump I ever had
We have two sump pumps in our basement to keep it nice and dry. Every 4 years or so, even less, we have to replace one. I have been buying the same brand every time and thought there has to be something better. I have read how good the Wayne sump pumps are and decided to try one out. I got the model WAYNE CDU790 and it is absolutely great. Right away out of the box you can feel is it quality. The old ones I bought were thermoplastic and only one lasted the expected 5 years. Some lasted a little over 4 years, most did not. The cast iron is heavy duty with stainless steel hardware holding it all together. The impeller is also stainless steel protected by a cast iron shroud. It has a long cable for reaching the outlet. The installation was very easy, and the operation is so quiet that I was worried that it wasn't working. I had to remove the cover to see if it was working and it is. My old pumps were so loud you could hear them upstairs every time they ran. The Wayne pumps water MUCH faster than the old pumps I bought. The sump empties in a matter of only a few seconds. This is a solid sump pump with a 3 year warranty. I registered it online immediately and am confident it will outlast my old pumps by far. The expected life if 6 years. For all of that, I give it 5 stars. Also for a super value and price as well as terrific quality.

Wayne Submersible 1/3hprsepower Sump pump
I am keeping this on my Wishlist so I can find it again whenever mine gives out because this is the only brand of sump pump that lasts for a long time and continues to do the job I need to do which is being used to shoot laundry wash water out the discharge pipe into plastic rain barrels that I use to water my yard, garden and flowers. This sump pump has a vertical float that moves more fluid that the kind that has attached rubberized float that must be almost upside down to turn on this pump tuns on at a much faster level, so it doesn't allow the sump pump hole to overflow, easy to install took less than 30 minutes with the adjustments to the discharge pipe, the suction power stays strong and can handle small debris but nothing large.

Worked Well But Like Everything Else It Has A Limited Lifespan
Years ago, I installed a Wayne CDU 790 model to replace two older side-by-side pumps left behind by the previous owners of my house. (The previous owners relied on two pumps in the crawlspace because they had a serious water intrusion problem due to an improperly retired septic system. As the new owner, I mostly resolved that problem by having the old field lines dug up and smashed.) The Wayne pump lasted 13+ years (Feb 2012 - Aug 2025). Its main task was to pump out air conditioner condensate that accumulates during the summer season, as well as to pump out seepage following prolonged periods of rain. It lasted way, way beyond its warranty period. Eventually the float disconnected from the pump activation arm, and the bottom perimeter of the float had somehow badly deteriorated as well, permeated by holes all around. I only (and luckily) learned of these problems due to a recent "pre-vacation" check. The pump motor was still operational, but given the general level of deterioration overall, it seemed like it was time to retire the pump. Since this first unit lasted so long, I just installed another of the same model. I suppose that I should have proactively changed out the pump after about 10 years. Machines ultimately fail, and require periodic monitoring.

Sump Pump
The pump feels of great quality, a lot quieter than my previous pump. Removes water quick and efficiently. Keeping my cellar dry so far! Easy to install as well.
