I thought I’d do a service to the Maserati/Ferrari community and write a review of this filter, because probably like I was, you are concerned if these are real or fake. I can say with pretty much 99% confidence that they are real. I’ve compared this one to one I purchased from the Maserati dealer and can find no difference anywhere, other than the one from the dealer is made in France, while this one is made in Morocco. This actually lends more credence to the legitimacy of it, because it means the printing on the outside wasn’t directly lifted and transferred to a counterfeit. Purflux indeed has a plant in Tanger, so that checks out. On the other hand, I’ve talked to my local dealer and they will sell me the filter for the same price…so while these may be legit, I can and should do business with my local guys. If you are a long way from a Maserati dealer or they are less amicable, this is a great choice.

At first I thought I got a used filter, but upon the comments, it’s just preoiled. That should be in the description to prevent bad reviews ( like the one I almost left haha…) It was heavy leading me to think it was filled with shrapnel, but figured it couldn’t have been because the oil did look clear and smelled new. Thanks!

The filter comes pre oiled in a bag and pressure tested from the Ferrari factory. If you didn’t know you don’t drive your Maserati enough, because I’ve already replaced 3 oil filters. Bless the seller because I don’t have to order from EU.

Worked great in my 2017 Maserati GT Sport! PS It's supposed to come with oil in it because they are tested and lubricated before being shipped out.
