Tame the "Wiry"!
I have loved this product. I noticed a big difference after only a few days of using it. I've had a short beard for a long time and recently decided to let it grow out beyond being able to use my beard trimmer's highest setting to keep it tamed. My facial hair is very "wiry" and rough and once I started to let it grow out, it started to stick out in all different directions. I tried washing it and using a few different conditioners (my wife's conditioners for her hair) to try and soften it up, but nothing seemed to do much. After about 2 or 3 mornings of working a little of this product into my beard it has really softened up and is very manageable. I only use a very small amount every day - I'm not trying to style anything with the wax but just get a little conditioning to soften the hair up so I can tame it a bit. I am now able to comb my beard so that "most" of the hairs are going in the same direction and it doesn't look like a "white-trash, birds-nest beard" The smell of this product is a little strong when you first apply this product (I think it is the Lime, but it has a chemical kind of smell). This smell fades away quickly and doesn't follow you all day. My wife didn't like the smell at first and she said it smelled something like curry seasoning.... It does seem like a lot to pay for a product for a beard which is typically the sign of a lack of care in grooming. I live in the woods on a mountain and have been known to go a few days without a shower, so grooming has never been on the top of my list. I wanted to grow my beard out, but I don't want to look like Jeremiah Johnson coming out of the mountains, this product has worked great. A few days after I started using this product I also started trying bluebeards beard wash and that has made my facial hair even softer and I no longer consider it to be wiry. Bluebeards Original Beard Wash with Extra Conditioning Jojoba Oils (8 oz.) I would recommend both of these products to anyone that wants to tame their wiry beard.

Great scent, easy to apply and works great.
I have tried several different products and Prof Fuzzworthy's is the one I keep coming back to. Between the consistency of it and ease of application, to the smell and feel, I will say that this is the best. The smell isn't overpowering but is refreshing and good. It's not too perfume like or outdoorsy. I have used the Amish beard product and I don't care for the smell but more importantly it was hard to apply. This product is smooth and goes in without extra clumps. I put it on and I don't notice the scent after a minute or so. I recently tried another product and the perfume like smell was so strong it gave me headaches. This is good mix. After a full day of wearing it my beard still feels conditioned. It softens it enough to sleep on and not scratch my face. Overall a great product.

love this stuff
love this stuff!! It is important to note that this product does not provide a lot of hold, but it is a little "heavy" and will hold down some strays. What this product does provide is: A. a wonderful shiny layer on your beard. I have a multi-colored beard and this product really brings out all of the colors, B. deep conditioning properties that soften and strengthen your beard C. a very pleasant smell that lasts longer than most oils or balms. I love the scent, kind of hard to describe but not overpowering at all. Great product!! As well as the Prof. Fuzz beard shampoo

Exactly what I needed but kind of messy
I was looking for something to make my crazy beard look a little more tamed. This stuff is the answer. My beard is very thick, very curly, and very course. This stuff knocks all of those attributes down a notch or two. What I like most is that it helps keep the whiskers in the beard and not flying out in every direction. You don't need a lot of this wax to get the benefit of it. Those who complain that it ran out too quickly are using too much of it. My tin lasted two months. A little goes a long way. The smell is unique. When I first used it, I feared the scent was way too strong. My wife said she could smell it, but that it wasn't overpowering. Coworkers confirmed. Remember, you're putting it right under your nose, so you're going to get the full brunt of its aroma. The smell is pleasant, "manly", herbal, not perfume-y, and your perception of its strength calms down as you use it. One warning: This is a wax, and it is messy if it gets anywhere other than in your hair. It will coat your hands when you put it on. I recommend grease-cutting soap (like GoJo or Dawn) as a solution if you absolutely cannot stand it, though very hot water and hand soap will also work but with much more effort. It will also rub off on anything that touches your beard (like your phone) all day long. This is more of a nuisance than a problem.

PERFECT for SHORT beards - a review after 14 months of use
The biggest problem with this product is the image on the tin: it's NOT for long beards. Get a wax if you wear facial hear longer than an inch; you might want to try the fiber or paste made by Crew. If you wear a short beard, read on. I wear a short box beard which I continuously experiment with, and I shave with a straight razor. This is my go-to product for beard management. My tin lasted 14 months of daily use. I use a tiny dab and smooth things down; then do a quick comb-through and you are good to go. I live in a very dry climate and it helps as an extra skin moisturizer. You can also slick a tiny amount through your eyebrows to give yourself an alert look (this was a tip from my wife, so even the ladies can use it). So - ff you wear a short to medium-length beard, this is great stuff: it smells good and goes a long way.

Buy it. You’ll like it
First time I purchased I was beyond satisfied! Absolutely the best product I’ve ever used. Beard was SO much better than with oils. I purchased the soap too and have not looked back. Great scent for the first 2 packages I went thru. This package however smells like straight pine cones. Quite overwhelming to be honest. Feels the same, looks the same, but the smell is NOT the same. I’m too lazy too return it and I will use it but the smell isn’t consistent. 2 out of 3 cans I’d give a 5/5 rating. Not sure what happened here? Won’t stop using it because I like how it works. Would be curious as to why the scent is SO off? Maybe not mix in the making process good enough? Still a good product. Just an honest review. Update to the prior review quite some time later… I have went thru many more tins of this stuff. Have not had anymore issues at all. Every tin has smelled pretty much the same. I use it every morning and have been for a few years now. I have tried several other similar products over the years and nothing seems to work as good nor is comparable to what I’ve become accustomed to with this little tin can.

Great stuff!
A friend of mine recommended this to me, and I'm so glad he did. I started growing my beard longer a few months ago and needed something to help keep it from getting too dry and unmanageable (my beard is very curly). This product works great--it's not really a wax so much as what I would call "an oil that's solid at room temperature". it comes solid in the tin and you just rub it in between your fingers or in the palm of your hand to 'melt' it; you then run it through your entire beard. It has a nice, eucalyptus-y smell to it and keeps my beard in check without weighing it down. (I suppose if you want to shape your beard or mustache, you could just use more.) It's not inexpensive for the relatively small tin, but a little goes a long way and I think it will last quite a while. I will (and already have) recommended this to my friends with beards.

Works well. It took a little experimentation to get it right for me.
I paid full price for this beard balm; no discount, no promotion, no connection with the company. I have had a few days to work with this beard balm; to figure out what it is, and how it works best for me. Keep in mind, every beard is different, so this review is for my gray, one inch long beard. I use the back of my little finger nail to scrape this out of the tin. Rub it in your palm until it's soft and applyable. It has the consistency of a medium to hard wax, so it's easy to work with. First of all, a little really does go a long way. There is probably enough in the tin to last me six months; maybe more. I started with too much on my clean, damp beard. My beard is thick, and some of the hairs (I don't know how they decide which ones) stick straight out. The amount of balm I used the first time did keep them in place but made my beard, for lack of a better term, hard. The next day I used less with good results, but I found my beard to be a little dryer than I like it. The last two days I have applied a good quality beard oil to my damp beard first, as I have always done. Then I waited a few minutes and applied about a pencil eraser size amount of the beard balm. Perfect. My beard is soft and looks very nice, while nicely (not stiff or hard) keeping the hairs laying down as they should. I don't know if this will work for anyone else, although I think it will for may. Bottom line is, try it in different ways, alone or with oils or whatever else you use, until you get the results you want. The beard balm is an excellent product by itself, but might work better for some in different ways. Experiment until you get it right. I can't imagine there are better beard balms out there. Anyway, have fun. I am. :-)
