I only buy Timex, I can get other brands but why? They work, stylist and meet the need. Note to the wise ; a little mink oil or saddle soap on the leather band is recommended. It is a bit stiff and with that effort the band is now comfortable! My timex watches on average have last me about 10 years each . I have worn them work every day for years. This one is now for just telling time . I been using Timex watches since I was 16….. quite a long time ago ( no pun intended)

This is not a low light watch for people with compromised vision, but! It is still very functional. I've used the timing function multiple times, up to a 24 minute timing of an event, with full confidence, as I had a secondary timing device to verify. The 20th of a second pretty much matched up with the digital. Go figure, different fingers pushing the buttons, but still respectable! The lume is short lived, so don't plan to look for the hands a couple minutes after exposing it to light. It does work for a short time, so if you flash it with your LED flashlight, you'll see the hands for a bit. I bought the one with a black dial, so the Indiglo is "Muted" It has a Texture to the back-lite. You can find the hands with a bit of concentration. Don't plan to see the Chronograph second hand in the dark. It's not easy to find. Keep your flashlight handy. Not a big deal. TImng in the dark happens, but I don't have to do it that often. Depends on the Drill. (FF/EMR) I still give it a five, as it is a black dial! I'd be willing to bet a White dial would be brilliant! When you reset the chronograph, it's got a satisfying sweep to your zero point. I'll likely wear out the battery playing with it! There are instructions online to work with the hands of the timing function hands. Once you set them to their zero locations, your ready for the next go. Mine came with the minutes hand passed the 30 minute mark. A simple Crown set, and button push sequence put it back at the right start point. It's not defective, we just need to find the instructions at the main TImex site. Simple search, and your there! Four days, still spot on the time, AND it is HACKING! Set it right on, and it's holding. Well, it's quartz, so go figure. It's likely more accurate than my ISP. It's keeping with the internet time that I used to set my watch. So far, the only deviation might be me looking from the screen to set the seconds on the watch. I was a second late when I set it, and it's still right on. The water resistance is capable of swimming according to the back, but I don't plan to jump in the water with a leather wrist strap anyway. Washed my hands plenty while wearing it, so if that helps, it's likely to survive an unexpected dunking. I'll report back if I happen to fall off a boat. This Watch looks like a serious timing piece with that field watch vibe, and it's super comfortable. I'm a big boy, and it looks right at home on Farm-boy. Not much tail to tuck under the second band loop. This might be a bit much on a smaller wrist. If you can't lift an iron small block and throw it in the bed of the pickup, it might be a bit large on your wrist. Fits me fine, but your results may vary. Way to go Timex Philippines! (One of my favorite places!)

This is a great looking and very functional watch for the price, so I was very disappointed to find it didn't work properly. Close examination revealed a tiny plastic collar preventing the crown from being fully depressed as necessary. I'm aware most new watches come with a small plastic tab that must be removed to activate the watch: this was not that. Those tabs are designed to be easily removed with one's fingertips. This collar (shown in the photo) was barely accessible due to the crown, and could not be removed even with fine-tipped watch repair tools. I contacted Timex customer support and sent them the photo. They evaded my question as to what the collar was and why it was there, but confirmed it needed to be removed for the watch to function, suggesting I bring it to a jeweler/watch repair shop. Well, the watch isn't such a bargain anymore if I've got to pay someone to get it to work -- so I returned it and requested a replacement. Wouldn't you know it? The replacement had the same stupid plastic collar preventing it from working. This time I decided to see if I could fix it myself. I removed the case back with a pry knife, removed the plastic battery cover, used a pin-punch to release the watch stem, and fully removed the stem from the case, finally freeing the offending plastic collar. Pretty straightforward if you have the tools. Reassembly was trickier, as two miniscule push bars fell out when the plastic battery cover was removed. These allow the chronograph pushbuttons to activate the stopwatch. They're smaller than a grain of rice and sit loosely within tiny channels in the battery cover, so they are very prone to falling out as the cover is put back in place. It took several attempts to get the battery cover situated with them still seated. Then it was just a matter of carefully placing the watch in a case press to snap the case back in place. Once reassembled, the watch worked fine. I replaced the rubber strap with a NATO strap, and it's now a favorite daily beater watch. I'm astounded no other reviewers seem to have encountered this issue when I encountered it TWICE, but I've detailed it here in case others run into the same problem. Disassembling the watch to remove the troublesome plastic collar isn't that big a deal if you have watch repair tools and steady hands -- but if that's not you, you might have to decide whether it's worth paying a jeweler to repair your brand new watch.

Style: T49905 - blk/blk/brown leather band Easy to read, watch face is well laid out and I like the contrast of the numbers against the background. It's been a while since I had a watch with Indiglo so it was nice to see that again. However, with the white hands, it's a little tough to read in the dark when the backlight is on, though it does have glow in the dark hands. Watch has a heavy, quality feel to it. Well constructed, like it may take a knock or two. Much beefier than any of the previous Timex watches I've owned. I was concerned about the crown size and it hitting the back of my hand in certain positions but it seems to be fine. I feel it but it's not nearly as prominent as I thought. If you have bad eyes like me, it may be tough to read without glasses on. The band fits well after oiling the leather --- cuts down drastically on break-in time. It always seems like I'm right in between two of the settings so oiling will help the band stretch a little in the tighter position. The color is pretty light fresh out of the box and the thread contrast is pretty retro. I found that oiling it also helped sort of detune that a little bit. I'm always one of those types that has to mod something the second I take it out of the box or it just isn't going to work. Oiling the leather band was the trick. I was on the fence and considering ordering a different one until I took a few minutes and hand rubbed some leather oil in to get it much darker and more pliable. Super comfortable. And thick, too. Seems like it will hold on for a few years. I bought a "used" one for a slightly discounted price -- in this economy, ffs!? Arrived just fine, intact, no signs of having been worn, just out of its original box and returned. Arrived in a factory box on factory wrist holder for the band, instructions were included, and arrived with a fresh battery installed -- just need to remove the tab to engage time and start the watch. Also, register the lifetime warranty. You'll likely never need to anything other than change the battery but if you ever do, they'll fix it for free. Also, I am not affiliated with Timex in any way. I'm just hopped up on the watch I just got and feel like writing a nice review about it. Highly recommended watch and happy to replace that $60 smartwatch. I was ready to get back to a real time piece. Nice choice!

I like this watch and appear to wearing it more than I thought. A comfortable fit with a large enough each face to read comfortably. Watch band isn’t bad and seems to be holding up well. Time keeping is accurate. So far no complaints

Bought this in May of this year when my normal every day watch was starting to lose time. Since we were; and still are; in the middle of the pandemic I couldn’t bring it in for service so I decided to get an inexpensive replacement for the time being. I thought that this watch would fit the bill so I ordered it. The watch does tell accurate time but the timer (chronograph/tachymeter) function is worthless as it really doesn’t keep track of any timing accurately past 30 minutes. Doesn’t even have rotating bezel as most others do. The hour and minute hands are extremely hard to read in the dark as they barely glow so you have to use the Indiglo function which is a pain to do every time you want to see the time at night. First time I accidentally bumped my hand into something it even put a tiny chip into the crystal (which I doubt is really even a mineral glass). I have more than a few watches and I’ve never had a scratch on any of the crystals, even after hard knocks and being dropped. They all run on batteries which need replacing. and that’s why I haven’t worn them. Haven’t been able to test water resistance abilities but I doubt they are any good. Last and worst of all was yesterday when I went to pull out the crown to adjust the calendar the whole stem pulled right out of the watch! Obviously it can’t be just put back in (I tried). Customer service is a joke. After a half an hour to be connected I was told I can download a few forms to fill out and then send it back for repair which would probably take a few weeks! So after 4 months of use I have a useless piece of garbage left and I’m still in the situation that I started with. Buyer beware. Update 2/17/21 I ultimately did send this watch back to Timex for repair; not just for the chipped crystal but because when I was trying to reset time & date the entire stem pulled out of the watch! After a few months of this worthless piece of junk sitting on my desk I got sick of seeing it and decided to try sending it back for repair before the warranty expired. That of course led to more aggravation. My watch is currently making a world tour. I sent it to the Timex watch repair center in the US where it was then sent to the Philippines and is now in China! Besides the fact that this good old American company; whose logo used to be “ takes a licking and keeps on ticking ”; has to send their watches around the world to be repaired, I’ll have to worry about the possibility of COVID-19 exposure! I wonder if the watch is alcohol proof as I am most certainly going to wash it down with it. Presently I’m wearing a replacement for the replacement; a Casio Duro; which was 2/3rds the price, is water resistant to 200M, and has been extremely accurate. All I can say is stay away from Timex. If I could I’d give it negative stars! Update 2/21/21 Watch still sitting in China and no response from Customer Service.

I really like this watch. The case and back are made of steel and it is substantial. The glass is very hard and clear. The writing on the face is subtly three dimensional (it’s not just printed on the surface). Even the three circles on the face have very precise, slightly raised concentric circles. It’s a little hard to see the black hour and minute hand agains the military green watch face in low light. But it is also what makes this watch aesthetically unique. I am a little confused as to why the second hand is bright yellow, but the hour and minute hand are not outlined in yellow. If you are in sunlight, it’s easy to read the time. I got the version with the rubber band. I like that a lot too. Soft, substantial, pliable. Very comfortable. Timex is consistently high quality for each price point (ranging from $20 resin cases to $2,000 titanium). If you pay more, the materials and details match that price. But, the quality is always uncompromising. And their watches are both simple and aesthetically pleasing.

The watch is great, I love it. I've had it for a week now and it's comfortable, functional, and stylish. However, I'm giving it only 3 stars because of how I received it. It was delivered in a ziplock sleeve with the warranty sheet stuffed in a bubble wrap package. I bought what was described as a new product, but it did not come in the original package, nor owners manual. I had to find the manual from the manufacturer's website in order to set the dang thing!! It begs the question... Did I really receive a genuine Timex timepiece? Either way, so far I'm happy with the product with the exception that the second hand on the stop watch sits about half a click left of noon. I have not yet tested the water resistance, which I'm a little apprehensive about since there seemed to be some sort of light colored lubricant or seal around the crown. I'll have to try it before my time frame for returns has passed. All in all, I would buy it again, just not from amazon fulfillment! UPDATE: I haven't worn the watch in over a year because the crown used to set the time has popped off. Spent no small amount of time trying to find a replacement, but I can't find good measurements for it. Would have to have access to an assortment and go by trial and error.... I guess it still deserves 3 stars?
