First, the sound is ok.. I bought this because I wanted something that was plastic (durable), affordable and portable..AT it's size, it is indeed portable.. the stand breaks down and fits into a backpack.. As far as consumed space for the actual cajon.. Think 1 cubic foot..Durable: The PVC construction is indeed a good idea and it is very very durable.. The heads are probably not has flexible as my wood faced cajon and the smaller size doesn't give me the boom you might want but it is still very usable sound.Hmm.. It says "Three playable heads".. I am not sure about this.. It has two thin heads and these are the only two that are "Playable" at least from my perspective.. THey both sound just about the same.. The Snare is permanently glued on each of the two heads and it is pretty much a snare from a snare drum cut in half.. It is not adjustable without dampening the sound with tape or some sort of mechanical intervention.The Stand.. Well.. Though flexible, the Stand is not what I had hoped.. IT is a bit rickety when set up with both tiers.. I am probably going to look to try it in a snare stand (And that way, I can have more flexibility).Overall.. The unit sounds.. Well OK.. the Stand could be a little bit better and had I actually been able to try it in a store, I probably would not have bought this.. Well.. I guess I probably would have not paid this price for it.. I probably would have just bought a regular pearl Boombox instead..
