Self-Study Bible Course (Expanded)

I just finished the first chapter. I love this book. It has removable flash cards in the back for memory tests( see photo). It asks you questions then you go look up the answer in the Bible. It shows you where the answer is. It does not go from genesis beginning to end. It starts in the basic foundations then moves forward. Even though Derek Prince was not perfect I think he was a genuine teacher and is still one of my faves. He believed random babbling was what speaking in tongues was but it’s not. Babbling is confusion and only the devil is confusing. It means speaking and understanding in many languages even though you never studied those other languages . For proof of this see YouTube channel “Bible Flock Box”. He does a series Of videos about tongues that explains with scripture proving what I’m saying. But aside from a few misunderstandings like this mr Prince was a great teacher. This book is organized well and easy to read and understand. It is for people who are either new to the Bible or need a refresher course. It’s not overly advanced which is good. But it still covers a lot! It’s also not for young kids. It’s advanced enough to keep my very educated adult mind interested. It has a few blank pages for notes. It has answer pages after you finish the chapter to check and score yourself or your students. This can be used by teachers as well as by yourself. I do a chapter a day at least. It’s worth getting the book and not the kindle because of the flash cards and you need to write in your answers. Every chapter is mostly all questions that you answer. There’s very little reading to study in this book. All the reading we do is mostly in the Bible itself. I get Much more understanding using this guide then when I simply read the Bible alone. And it’s easier for some reason this way. I can’t recommend it enough.

First of all, you can NEVER go wrong with Derek Prince. Secondly, it is organized really well, kept simple and even has answers that you can check plus a brief expansion on your answer on r th r following pages. It’s a great resource that has many of the scripture verses regarding certain topics in one place for you once you’re done ! ( Why it all about His Word & Bible authority) Holy Spirit, Why Israel and Jews are key and always will be. We are blessed to be grafted into the promises Yahweh gave them . He’s giving them but first to the Jews, and then to the gentiles. We do not replace them. Ever. And lastly a good combination of mini versus throughout the Bible on the second coming of Jesus.

I used this 45 years ago when I first got saved and learned to understand the basics of Christianity and to navigate through the Bible. I bought this for a friend who was lacking in basic Biblical knowledge.

I am a member of the Church of Christ. My father is a Church of Christ preacher. I just finished the first 6 lessons of this book. I have never felt a deeper connection with God like this before. It is an intense book! Very sound doctrine is what I was looking for. It talks about spiritual growth, the importance of water baptism, and the Holy Spirit. I highly recommend reading it and doing the questions every day just to grow a deeper connection with God. This is an awesome Book!

This is a great foundation for starting to understand the Bible. There’s lots of looking up of verses making it a great way for beginners to get to know the books of the Bible. The questions are easily answered by simply looking up the verses. Some study books do “deep-dives” and those are incredibly beneficial, but for someone just getting started and doesn’t want to be overwhelmed, this is a great book.

Absolutely a must have. You get study questions, correct answer key and notes on correct answers.

Absolutely love!!! Money well spent. Easy to you and already learning so much. Makes learning the Bible fun.

Excellent guide!

I like the fact that Derek Prince wrote in a simple way and easy to follow and i love at the end where we can add our score on how we did, one capter at a time.

I bought this book being new to christianity. I needed a head start before going to church! I did the Alpha course but was still daunted by the thought of trying to read the whole Bible! Sound familiar?????? THEN BUY THIS BOOK!!!!! You can cover one whole section in 30-45 mins and you cover all the basics in the old and new testaments. And Derek`s summaries of each part once you,ve completed them are so encouraging! I find it compatible with most bibles (king james, good news etc) and you mark your own answers! the only thing i struggle with(and thats just my ageing brain and 2 kids) is the memorising of passages! I can remember the gist.....but Dot from eastenders i will never be!!!! lol

Thus book is really easy to use. It helps you study the bible. It has got even got card with bible verse you can use to remember the verse. If you want to get an understanding of the bible this is the book to begin with.
