Brilliant Explanations and Artwork
Upon reading reviews for this book, I decided to buy it for myself and I was glad that I did. The book is brilliant in terms of information for beginner and intermediate level fighters or bodybuilders. The book gives in-depth explanations for parts of the body to exercise, depending on the needs or uses of the muscles and gives a very easy-to-understand "casual" writing style of the book. The only minor negative aspect of the book is that if you know your knowledge of human anatomy or are a skilled fighter, some of the information mentioned might be details that you already know. The artwork also helps to explain details of the body with relation to martial arts and exercise, which is helpful for beginners who are wondering what to do in terms of training or exercise.

Fantastic book on resistance training for Martial Artists of all types
Good information on what muscles are used in different types of marital arts - from boxing, to kicking, to grappling. While the title says "anatomy": it should be marketed more as a training book - it has a substantial details on resistance workout and exercises that benefit those various martial arts and even has them divided by beginner, intermediate and advanced students. Great book, but then Delaviers books are all great.

Simple - Quick - Reference
I just finished it. Once you learn the organization layout of the manual; it is an excellent reference for designing a training regime for almost any fighting system.

This is more a training manual then the usual anatomy books. The pictures are smaller, with a lot more text. The book reads like an extra long fitness magazine. Even the with the 2 or 3 column per page. The books starts with all the basic exercises, and knowledge of muscle groups all beginners will need to progress. I only have 2 negative things to say about this book. The first is I would have liked more exercises and combinations for intermediate to advanced athletes. Second I think some more stretching exercises would have been useful, especially in the injure prevention section. Apart from that the book is a fountain of knowledge, a one stop guide for beginners. A good revision guide for people who have been training for a while. It is a training manual that will keep being pulled off the bookshelf to check something in.
