A Man's review of this thing.
To clear up a lot of confusion with this mattress, here is an Honest to God review.... Summary: - Mattress was easy to assemble (cut package and roll/air out) - Smell was not that bad... It's expected, so have a fan ready and air it out. - Firm version of memory foam (Perfect for bigger guys like me) But I have a hunch it breaks in over time. - Quality seemed very nice. I just received this mattress yesterday ( 8/5/2015 ). The packaging was as expected, the Cardboard box was in rough shape but the heavy duty plastic on the inside was untouched. I'm a 6'2" 230lb athletic man that spends most of my free time in the gym, so getting the package onto my bed frame by myself was no problem at all. To a regular or smaller person, you might need an extra hand carrying the 90+lb package. Upon opening, I cut the plastic and everything went as expected. The mattress inflated itself within 30 minutes with the corners lagging behind (I just hit the corners with my hand to fluff them up and help them catch up) . I let it sit for 24 hours before laying on it. The smell is strong, but it's not as bad as people make it out to be. Looking at the other reviews, some of these people must have had a bad mattress, or simply can't take a little odor for a few days (they might be sensitive). Here's the biggest point... The mattress is a very firm version of memory foam. Right out of the box the mattress doesn't give in as much as you may think. It's perfect for someone like me because, like I've said, I'm 230 lbs and athletic. This thing offers the perfect support for me, giving in to my heavy points and supporting my lighter areas yet I can see somebody who's much lighter having issues. I say to those people, give the mattress time to break in. I'll update this in a few months with a follow up. Tonight will be the first night I sleep on it, and I couldn't be more excited. The 10 minutes I spend laying on it this morning almost made me fall right asleep again. I'll keep this post updated because there seems to be a lot of confusion on this mattress. * Off topic * The first one I ordered got mixed up in the mail due to the carrier, therefor I got my mattress 3 days late. Amazon's customer service was perfect and I couldn't have asked for a better crew to solve the problem. ** UPDATE (08/07/2015) ** - Last night was the first night that I slept on the mattress and I can honestly say I had a great night sleep. I didn't wake up in the middle of the night at all. I was cool all night (Granted I had a 17" box fan blowing directly over me) and the only time I got hot was when my lady friend came over earlier. I'm usually a very hot sleeper and people who complain about the heat of this thing should invest in a fan. Even without the fan it was very cool at first, but it did start warming up slightly after 30 minutes or so of laying in the same spot - but it wasn't that bad. I can say that I'm very pleased with my first night on this thing. *** UPDATE 08/24/2015 Sleeping on this thing has been a pleasure. It's not revolutionizing, but it's much more comfortable than my last mattress. The smell is pretty much gone although it did take awhile. The smell was honestly not that bad and the only way you could really smell it was if you stuck your nose in the mattress. I don't wake up in the middle of the night anymore from tossing and turning. That's a huge plus for me because on my old mattress It felt like I had a cycle of waking up at 3 or 4am from tossing and turning. The mattress is still very firm, but like I said before, it's perfect for me because I'm big and heavy enough to actually sink in a bit.

You need this mattress!!!
Let me start this review by saying a few things about my self. I am a woman on the heavy side with bulging discs in my low back, and neck damage from a car accident 12 years ago that caused some nerve damage too. For my whole life i have slept on spring mattresses, and for the last 12 years i have not slept well. I would wake up 3 or more times a night in pain, or with numbness and tingling. I bought the Classic Brands Cool Gel Memory Foam mattress in the queen size. I never thought I'd be able to afford a good memory foam mattress, but it is quite affordable. I priced regular mattresses at discount clubs, and this one was less money. It is super easy to unpack, though if you have a bad back i do suggest getting a little help so you dont strain your self, it is heavy and awkward to pick up. They say to allow quite a few hours to inflate, but mine inflated within minutes. If you are placing the mattress on a box spring I do recommend a piece of plywood for the middle of the box spring so it does not droop. My chiropractor suggested this as he has been sleeping on a memory foam for some time. Some people do complain of an odor, but I barely smelt it. I have allergies too many chemical sents and can't even be around many industrial cleaners, but this bed did not trigger an allergic reaction. I did leave my room to air out for the day before I slept on it, just in case, but even as I was unpacking it there was barely a new car smell. Now on to the good part of the review; I have been sleeping on this mattress for only two nights and they have been the best two nights of sleep I've had in 12 years. I slept like a rock both nights without getting up once. On my old mattresses I would toss and turn so badly that I would pull off the fitted sheets every night even with the elastic clips that are supposed to hold them on. I have not tossed once since being on this mattress. It is firm, but still forms to my body just the way I need it. And no matter if I sleep on my side or my back I have not had neuropathy these past two nights, which is a huge deal for me. I'm so grateful that I bought this mattress, it is worth it not to be in pain. As far as the cooling gel, it is not as cold as I'd hoped, but I'm also not overheating. I throw off a lot of heat when I sleep in my old mattress would always throw it right back at me, this one is not. All in all this is the best purchase I've made so far this year.

WOW!! This thing is great!!!
Our mattress was old and we decided it was time to upgrade. We wanted to go with a Purple, but are planning to expand our house in the near future and increase the size of our room to be able to get a king sized bed so we didnโt want to spend the money on a Purple to end up replacing it in a few years with a bigger size. We decided to give this one a shot because a family member had it and the price was great. This thing is fantastic, I couldnโt be happier with it!! We have had it about a year now and it is just as comfy now as when we got it. When we end up getting a king, we will probably go for another one of these instead of the purple. So comfy and so cost effective! 10/10.

Cool sleeping, firm memory foam mattress for a killer price
I've slept on this mattress for 6+ months, and, It's a mighty fine mattress. I've slept better than I have since owning a ridiculously over priced memory foam mattress many moons ago, that left with the ex. I bought a cheap inner-spring immediately thereafter and hated every moment I 'slept' on it. I started seeing ads online for Casper brand mattresses that were getting great reviews, and the price($800 for a queen I believe?) seemed to good to be true! I paid over $3k for memory foam, how can it be so cheap now? It came off patent protection, and the genie was out! Let's not kid ourselves, since memory foam came off patent, anyone can make a mattress with the stuff for cheap. One way, is to put a memory foam pad on a standard foam base, and/or, they can use less... memorable(?) memory foam. To meet the TERRIFIC price point I paid for this mattress, my guess is Classic Brands does both. This isn't necessarily a bad thing though, read on. My mega mattress was a cloud, a bit too soft for some, but I loved it. The downside? It. Was. HOT to sleep in! This mattress is quite a bit firmer, and I certainly don't sink in the same way I did before, but true to the name, this mattress sleeps much cooler than the primo model I used to love. Okay, can I address the elephant in the room? I'm talking about sex. Skip the next few lines if you're sensitive, though nothing overtly explicit follows. Memory foam mattresses have been terrible for sex in the past. Sinking in to the mattress precludes some activities entirely, and makes others rather challenging. This mattress is much less intrusive, more conducive to sex in the same way as an inner-spring always has been. So what's to like? Price! Less than half the price of the Casper. Cool sleeping (for a foam mattress, they will be warmer than traditional mattresses in general.) More accommodating to sex than previous foam mattress I owned. What's Not to like? it's a tiny bit firm for my taste (I know, boo-hoo, lol) rolling over can sometimes be a challenge, if you've stayed in one spot a while, you still do sink in a bit, especially this 6' 3" 220lb mass.

Not bad for a mattress I bought online.
Update: This mattress is still going strong and I haven't noticed any sagging. And I'm a very plus sized person. Highly recommend! Edit: 2 years since I bought this mattress and I felt it deserved an upgraded review. For a memory foam mattress I bought online, it's holding up really well. Still springs back nicely where I sleep, but it is a bit more firm at the end of the bed. If you are looking for a new mattress, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this one. Since I've only had this for a month or so, I can't really speak on the longevity of it, but so far so good. First of all, this mattress arrived vacuum-sealed in a bag, within a box. The box doesn't have wheels and since it's heavy, the box was a bit damaged. According to our hard-working UPS guy, it was a pain in the butt to move around, etc. We barely managed to squeeze this into a 2007 Hyundai Elantra (front passenger seat pushed all the way forward, mattress angled from the back seat into the front. Wouldn't fit through the trunk, even without the box. Now, as for the mattress itself... Once we opened it up, there was a bit of an odour, and it did take a day or so to puff up to its full size. Good, solid memory foam. This is my first memory foam bed so it is taking a bit to get used to, but I love how quiet and comfortable it is. Some people might find this bed firm, but I really feel it's more cushy than I expected, although I'm also a plus-sized person. My only real complaint about this bed is that even with the cool gel, I do find it gets warm. Thankfully I'm mostly solo in this bed so I just roll over to a cool spot every now and again. It does sink in where my body is, but returns to its full puffed up state relatively quickly. I also like that I can get up or back in bed without waking my partner since the bed is silent and movement doesn't transfer. Speaking of movement, this bed hasn't hindered our 'recreational' bedroom activities in any way, although I do find the angle ends up a bit different than my old non-memory foam mattress. I researched a lot before buying this mattress and I was a bit worried about edge firmness. That hasn't been an issue. While the edge isn't as solid as a traditional mattress, I haven't had any difficulty sitting on the edge of the bed, etc.

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME, love it!
This mattress is one of my all time best buys on Amazon! I am very picky about my mattress, it took me several years and 3-4 different ones before I realized that Memory Foam works best for my spine with no discs left, they've all dried up from arthritis (Degenerative Disc Disease). I slept on a regular Memory Foam mattress for about 4 years and loved it. Then I heard about gel with Memory Foam and wanted to get one but they were outrageously priced in stores, so I waited a while. I ended up divorced and moving into a new place and bought all new furniture, so decided to look on Amazon for a mattress and box spring. It took me a few days of searching and decided this one was the best buy, and wow am I glad I bought it! I have been sleeping on it for about 10 days and not one time have I awakened in the middle of the night. It is a little more firm than I normally prefer, but its a miracle that I can actually lay flat on my back, fall asleep immediately and not wake up until the alarm clock goes off. I have arthritis in every single joint in my body, and this mattress seems to support them all. In addition, I no longer turn from side to side, and I no longer get night sweats. I was concerned about the gel being too cool for arthritis since moist heat is what helps my pain the most. But the gel has not bothered my arthritis. The mattress was easy to open, it was vacuum packed, wrapped and shipped in a cardboard box. I had to get help to lift it up onto the bed and once I cut off the plastic it immediately started growing, pretty entertaining! It grew a lot faster than my original Memory Foam mattress, this one seemed to reach full thickness in less than one hour, so I went ahead and put on all bedding. The cover is very nice and soft, looks just like the expensive bed on a t.v. ad, it has a cozy raised orange peel design in the material on top, and the bottom part is grey. The cover is zippered for washing. Please take note that this mattress is 12 TWELVE inches thick, which is a huge upgrade. I have a 9 inch box spring since I like a higher bed. You can pair this with a lower profile box spring if you like your bed lower, or you can also use it on a platform bed. I could not be happier with this mattress, and I am telling everyone I know about my purchase! Where else can you buy such a nice mattress for $300-$400!? But don't let the price fool you, its a great investment. I am posting 2 photos, both the grey and the off white portions are the mattress/cover, the grey that you see is the bottom part of the cover. The bed photo shows how high it is, but some of the height is due to the bedroom sets frame, its about 2-3 inches higher than your average frame.

fantastic bed for a great price!
I bought this mattress based on the amount of great reviews I saw and I am not disappointed. As many others pointed out, the bed arrived in a box that was just trashed. I couldn't even move the mattress from my porch to my foyer without the whole box coming completely apart. Once inside, I had to wait until my husband and son could move the mattress upstairs and put it on the box springs. That was a day and a half because of work schedules, so unfortunately we did not set it up early in the morning and it only had about 4 or 5 hours to inflate before I slept in it the first night. The smell was awful, as noted, but I kept the window cracked opened and although the bed was rather mushy, I slept well enough. The second night the bed was still a bit too soft for my liking but still more comfortable than the old mattress. Then Last night! The mattress was perfect. It is the perfect blend of plushness and support and I had the best night's sleep I've had in years. It's still a bit stinky but I'm confident that will dissipate in a few days. My only criticism is that although it's supposed to have cooling gel in it, when I wake up in the middle of the night with a hot flash it felt pretty warm under me, until last night when I did note that it felt cooler. Maybe the bed has to be fully inflated for that feature to work. Also, I used Egyptian cotton sheets on it which I usually don't because I find them to be too hot, because I thought it might be too cool. So, when I switch to percale sheets, I'm sure it's going to be perfect. I almost spent thousands for a sleep number or tempurpedic bed and I'm so glad that I didn't.

Good quality
Mattress arrived in Good condition. Box was alittle beat up but mattress was wrapped up well. It expanded to the full 12 inches. I spent several weeks reviewing customer reviews and am pleasantly surprised with it so far. Mattress will start out a bit firm, that is to be expected. Definitely will purchase again for my other guest bed
