Nice gloves
High quality glove. I have small to medium burger king hands. They fit good with a little room to spare. I bought them for burning leaves, moving hot burn barrels & grilling. I am 100% satisfied. They perform great for fire protection.

Amazing heat resistance! Do you really need to know anything else?!
These gloves are amazing! I pull my firebox from my smoker still loaded when I’m done cooking. To be fair I did that with potholders prior, but with these I’m never uncomfortable and in fact don’t feel the heat! Pros: Heat resistance of these is ridiculous! The only time I’ve even felt heat was when I picked up a fully lit chunk of lump coal with my hand (about 6” x 4” and glowing - I was rearranging with tools and it fell) and gingerly placed it back in the firebox. Even then, not uncomfortable! Mostly comfortable. Considering how heat resistant they are, I feel like I should have no tactile functionality and they should have ceramic paneling. Instead they are mostly maneuverable, and mostly comfortable. Maneuverability. See above. Seriously, I can still move my hands for the most part. I’ve had worse winter mitts as a kid, and I live in a subtropical climate! Super grippy texture! I love love love the texture on these. This helps with the loss of tactile feel, and is just good product design in general. Texture appears to be high heat silicone as a bonus, as it doesn’t seem affected by heat either. Aesthetically pleasing for grill gloves. These are probably some of the best looking grill gloves I’ve ever seen. These look like they are professional quality! Cons: Warm. If I’m being honest, and I am, the gloves themselves are a little warm. Again, subtropical where I’m at, so it feels a bit hot. Seriously though, I can hold a log that is glowing, and feel nothing! This isn’t entirely unexpected. A bit tight. They may not fit you! I’m a male, a few inches over 6’ tall, and of a healthy weight. I don’t think my hands are small by any means, but I’ve never had huge hands either. I know some bigger guys (both just massive giants that dwarf me and those that have a few extra pounds) that have huge hands. These gloves will not fit you if you have huge hands! They are tight on me, and a bit uncomfortable to don. Restrictive of movement. The gloves are very maneuverable. Honestly they are, but they do restrict your tactile abilities. They are double layer, and this does lessen your ability to use anywhere near your full potential for manual dexterity. Bonding might be an issue. The gloves have two layers. How do I know? I can feel the layers separate every time I don and remove the gloves. This might not be an issue, mine have NOT separated! But it completely feels like it could. Gloves turn white. Those nice sleek black gloves turn white when their fiber is exposed to extreme heat. I mention this because I do consider it a negative for the black glove. Would I count points off for it? No way! Mine turned white in on spot when I picked up a glowing chunk of lump coal. I actually expected them to protect me (probably foolish but they did), but to have significant catastrophic damage. Like a hole partially through them type damage. Instead, some of the fabric turned white. Are you kidding me?!? These are amazing! Overall, even with my few complaints, if you have average sized hands or a little below then I’d highly recommend these gloves. The gloves appear to be of an overall high quality, a decent price, and have extreme heat resistance. If you were looking for heat resistant gloves, this is it! *I’m NOT a paid reviewer. I received no payment, product, discount, or other consideration for my review; or for any other reason except I ordered and paid for the product with my own money, for my own personal use. I typically review products that I think are very good, or occasionally products that I think are very bad. This is a very good product, IMO.

The best oven mitts I’ve ever used - perfect for sourdough baking!
I bought these oven mitts after burning my arm pretty badly while handling a cast-iron Dutch oven for sourdough bread. I needed something that would fully protect not just my hands, but also my forearms — and these absolutely delivered. At first, I was surprised by how large they were. I even wondered if they might be too big. But once I started using them, I realized the size is actually a huge benefit — they remind me of autoclave gloves in how much protection they offer. From what I’ve read, they’re not made of asbestos (which was a concern at first glance), but rather a high-performance material similar to what firefighters have in their gear. That gave me peace of mind. I can now confidently lift a blazing hot Dutch oven straight out of my oven without any fear of burns. These mitts are sturdy, heat-resistant, and built to last. One of the biggest benefits is that they have grips on both sides, so it doesn’t matter how you grab them — they fit either hand comfortably, no need to figure out left or right. I absolutely love them, would buy them again, and highly recommend them for anyone baking with high heat or heavy cookware. Truly top quality.

Good Product but Relentless SMM Group Follow Up to Rate this Item
These gloves provide good heat protection on a sliding scale versus temperature. Thus you can safely touch a 900F surface but only for a few seconds. Let's arbitrarily say 10 second at 900F (note: I do not have the product literature in front of me at the moment), whereas for a 400F surface you're safe holding time maybe 30 seconds. Overall the temperature versus time rating of these gloves is satisfactory for typical grill and oven temperatures. For example, there is more than sufficient time to complete an operation like fetching a 450F roasting pan from the oven and placing it on your work surface. But just make sure you know where you're going with a hot item, otherwise you may run out of time. Since these gloves are knit from thermally rated yarn they have a "porous" exterior surface which fouls easily with grease and caramelized food bits. As the gloves become contaminated with grime their thermal-time rating degrades. Consequently periodic washing is required for safe use. The gloves can be washed following the manufacturer's instructions which are not onerous to complete (i.e. fairly unrestrictive). Light soil on the gloves is generally harmless while fouling of the knit with solids prompts the need for washing. In regard to size I'd generally say they'd fit most men and women because the gloves are quite "stretchy". My glove size is 8 or 8.5 and I have to pull the gloves on expanding them to a nice snug fit. Thus, qualitatively, on both the up and down side of say an 8 glove hand (plus or minus more than one glove size) the gloves should fit satisfactorily. Also the long sleeve-end of these gloves provides good thermal protection over your wrist, as well as protection from splatters. Apparently Amazon shares your email address with the manufacturer (SMM Group) who gently keep sending you emails to rate their product. I think you can unsubscribe, via SMM, to turn them off if they're bugging you too much. Personally I'm at that point now. Lastly, on manufacturing, note that this is yet another Chinese made item. Glove quality is okay, but I'd rather be sending my money elsewhere, even if I had to pay a bit more.

Not too big and they really work!!!
So I bought these gloves to take suppressors off my rifles. For people that own suppressors they know how quickly a suppressor can get after just a few shots. It's not unreasonable for a suppressor to reach temperatures of 400-500 Fahrenheit after 3 or 4 shots from a 308. So most of the time people wait until the suppressor has cooled to either pack up or move it to another rifle but it's 2023 and who wants to wait for anything...lol... So to test these out I took them to work. During the winter months here in Ohio our Landscape company processes firewood. During the coarse of the day we have a lot of wood debris from cutting logs. Some of this debris is small enough to burn in a 50 gallon oil drum. Sometimes in the morning this barrel will glow orange. So I thought this would be a perfect way to test the gloves. I started out the test by putting them just over the fire. I didn't feel anything. I then placed my hand, with the glove on, onto the rim of the barrel. I left my hand on the rim for at least 10 seconds but didn't feel much. So then I placed my hand, with the glove on, onto the middle of the barrel. This is where I noticed some burning. It wasn't continuous but a quick scolding. After 10 seconds I did feel the glove warming and it was getting hot. So then I should have let the glove cool a bit but I didn't. I went right to the glowing orange part of the barrel. I left my hand on the orange for about 5 seconds. I probably could have held on for 5 more seconds but I didn't see the point. 🙂 I should have let the glove cool after each test. So this morning I baked some cinnamon rolls. I set the temperature to 400f. I used the gloves and felt all over the oven and I never did feel heat. I'm really pleased with these gloves. They are big but they aren't like some gloves I've seen. They weren't too difficult to put on either. Some gloves I've had in the past were so difficult to put on and take off. Hope this review helps!

Buy a pair: Great Gloves, Great Protection, Great Product
2017 Update: I use them each time I bake and I'm still VERY happy with these gloves. Don't hesitate -- get a pair! I bake bread -- sometimes in a heavy Dutch oven, a bread tin, and occasionally on a stone. Every month or so, I cook a turkey in a big roasting pan that has squirrelly little handles. But now with these very cool (or should I say cooling...) gloves, I can handle, hold, and move anything in the hot oven, and not worry about getting burned. Lifting the heavy and hot Dutch oven? Easy-peasy. These gloves are truly a tremendous help when baking. One more example: when I bake bread on a stone, at 500-degrees to start, I heat a brick in the oven; I also have a pyrex dish with boiling water on the bottom rack. Once the bread goes in, I put the brick into the water to create steam. In the past, I'd use old-fashioned oven pads and gingerly handle the brick. With the Extreme Heat BBQ Grill Gloves, I just pick up the brick and safely stick it into the water. (If you try this, cover the glass oven door with a big towel in case the water splashes.) The length of the gloves are also incredibly valuable as they protect much of my forearm when reaching into the oven. If I had one criticism, it's the problem of sizing: The manufacturer could do a heck of a better job guiding us in the "large to XL" vs. "small to medium" conundrum. (When I bought a harness for my dog, the sizing instructions --- neck, length, girth -- made the job almost effortless.) I bought large thinking I'd rather swim around in the gloves instead of getting something too small to fit and having to return them. Overall, I DO swim -- they are big (I'm 6' 1" tall with long fingers). But what's important to know is that it hasn't interfered with the pleasure of using the gloves. If you're visiting this page, the likelihood is you're thinking of buying a pair; set aside your concerns and just buy them. I hesitated and over-thought the purchase. Now that I have them, I'm a happier baker. BTW, unlike other reviews on Amazon, I did NOT get a free pair or promotional consideration -- this is an honest review.

Overall, a high quality product.
We have been baking at high heat recently -- roasting vegetables in a cast iron pan, baking pizzas, etc., cranking the oven up to 450-550 degrees. One of our traditional oven mitts needed to be replaced because the insulation was worn out, developing a "hot spot" that was dangerous. While traditional potholders are likely more than adequate for the task, if you've ever tried to take a cast iron bread pan out of the oven and turn out a loaf of sourdough bread onto a cooling rack wearing oven mitts, you would appreciate how difficult this task can be. The big "thumb" on an oven mitt can get in the way. There is simply not enough dexterity when wearing a mitten. These gloves are really nice. The fact that they put the silicon on both sides of each glove is a huge plus. If they did not do this you would have to worry about which was the left and which was the right glove. But because both sides of the glove are identical, they are "reversible" (not in the sense of being able to turn them inside out, but in the sense of being able to turn the glove over so that the thumb is on the correct side). I have fairly large hands, as does my wife. The gloves fit nicely with some room to spare. They are fairly snug around the forearm. Last night I took out the cast iron pizza skillet and did not feel any warmth. However, I cannot really say that I tried holding the skillet for any longer than was necessary, and at 500 degrees, I really did not want to put it anywhere besides on top of the stove, which I did nicely. Again, the form fitting glove made it easier not to touch my food accidentally whereas an oven mitt might touch the crust. It was very easy to grab the handles and get a secure grip. I also used them to turn over my stove-top popcorn popper. Just lift the stainless steal popper off the medium heat gas burner and I can hold one hand on top and one hand on bottom. I have to say though, that I could feel the glove getting warm when doing this. It did not approach uncomfortably warm, but I was able to sense that I was holding something warm. It is also possible that this was the result of the steam coming out of the top of the popper. They are relatively easy to get on and off, though you do have to pull them, unlike a traditional oven mitt which just slips on. I would not say they take up any less room than a pair of oven mitts as they are fairly substantial and heavy weight. Are they worth the money? I can't answer that for you. I think they are more of a luxury item and I only h ope they last over time.

runs large (think Hulk size), works well, but has a fatal flaw
so first things first, I do most of the cooking around the house - my wife sees patients from home and her schedule is all over the place. She likes to cook, but who wants to eat dinner at 10 pm😊. As a result we have many things in the kitchen which are more suited to me. These gloves were a total back fire, as I bought them for her because she doesn’t like the hot pads I use, she also is a little more timid around the oven because she doesn’t use it everyday. She had always used hot gloves. Well these hot gloves fit her about as well as one of my shirts, honestly my glove size runs L/XL depending on manufacturer and these gloves are big on me. So what started out as a true gift looked more like the time I bought my wife one of the early blu-ray dvd players for her birthday- self serving! So if you have king king sized hands and are still reading, the gloves work well- very thick but you (aside from largess) still have some degree of dexterity. I have used them at the grill for several years without issue until today. Memorial Day 2022 - I go to put my gloves on and my fingers won’t go down their slots - well my pinky and thumb are fine but index, middle and ring finger are horribly stopped up…hook’em horns style. todays is when I discovered why these gloves work well - there like 3 gloves (I think) and at least 2 gloves in one. Evidently the last time I used them the inner most glove my middle three fingers pulled the inner glove inside out when I took them off. I cand get them to go back in. I finally pulled the whole inner glove out (picture above). I think I am just going to cut the glove off, put the inner glove on then the outer glove(s). Should these gloves even last 5 years, you be the judge, for me I grill at least weekly from april to october and periodically in the late fall and winter. I have a small 10x10 building with my outdoor kitchen where the gloves reside in a drawer went not in use - so I think they should last longer. I am very ambivalent about recommending these because they do work, but honestly if my wife would be better off with mitts because they are just so big. I will tell you that These gloves allow you to touch things mere “hot gloves” wouldn’t. I believe their 900+ degree claims - I just wish fit and fashion were improved.

Perfect fit for a small adult!
Delivery was quick and the item arrived in good condition. I just tried it out today. The fit is perfect for a small adult woman - My palms are about 3" wide, and the length of my hand (inclusive of my fingers) is about 6" from the base of my palm to the tip of my fingers. The glove is comfortable, and definitely provides a lot of dexterity compared to the traditional oven mitt. I managed to handle hot trays (baking) with no issues at all. Would definitely recommend!

Buena pinta
