I love love love these longer shelf brackets. I have several IKEA Hemnes bookcases and the brackets that come with them have always been too short to hold a shelf fully loaded with books. It has been great finding these longer brackets. I purchased the 5mm size and they are perfect for the Hemnes shelves. They are well made, sturdy and fit snugly, and give great support for the loaded shelves. No more worries about collapsing shelves. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Updating original review- I’ve been getting some questions needing answers. So I poked around the reviews and I started seeing a pattern. Most of the people saying these don’t fit IKEA Ivar shelves bought the smaller (5mm) size, or the size is omitted from their review. There is even a review mentioning they used a caliper to measure what size the needed pin for IKEA Ivar shelving should be and the say the shelves need a 6mm pin. Yet they bought and reviewed a 5mm pin.... I bought and used the .24 (6mm) and I used them in my 10 year old IKEA Ivar shelving and they work perfectly. Still 5⭐️

I have several Ikea shelving units in my home. One problem I constantly have with them is that the backings fall off and then they start to widen, causing the shelves to collapse due to the tiny support pegs that come with them. Normally, I would repair the furniture, but in one room I have a series of three Hemnes hutches that are all screwed in to the wall and honestly, I just have too much going on right now to be bothered with unloading them, unscrewing them, and trying to fix them. I thought, if I just had longer support pegs for the shelves, that would buy me some time. So, I bought these shelf supports, and they worked! They fit perfectly into the pre-drilled holes, and are ridiculously strong. They are holding the shelves up like a boss and I'm thankful that I get to put off dealing with furniture repair until I have more time!

Bought these for some second hand Ivan shelves from IKEA and they fit perfectly. This is the best deal we’ve found on these pegs

I inserted them into holes drilled into studs behind a drywall surface, to support solid wood shelves. They work great.

I bought this because I lost 3 IKEA Ivar shelf pins. Of course, the day after these came in I found the missing pins. Comparing them side by side, these are the same length but slightly smaller in diameter. They fit, just not as snugly as the actual Ivar ones. All in all not a bad purchase and I will keep these for the next time the real pins get misplaced or lost.

Lost my ikea IVAR shelf dowel pins during moving, can’t get any spare parts in ikea store as they close amid pandemic. Happened to find this product that seems to be the only legit replacement parts. Make sure you buy 0.24”/6 mm pins although I know temptation to buy the much cheaper 5 mm ones. 6 mm is the one to fit IVAR system! Admittedly they are as expensive as gold, the bright side is the quality is better than ikea OEM parts. Anyway, keep the small parts organized or you pay the price

The 6mmX40mm was perfect for our hundreds of linear feat of Ikea Ivar shelving. Our 25-year-old Ivar shelves are supremely adaptable for varieties of configurations -- corners, tall books, smaller books. These steel dowel connectors are superior to the originals, which had to be hammered into the post holes after painting. These are much better milled and usable than the originals. We now now have two mason jars of Ivar connectors, new (the BIGTEDDY) and old (original IVAR). Highly recommended.
