FZONE Aquarium Co2 Regulator DC Solenoid with Bubble Counter and Check Valve Plant Grow DIY CO2 System CGA320 Side Open Cylinder

Buyer beware. This regulator solenoid does not shut off CO2. Soon as the product arrived, I read the instructions and installed the regulator on my 5lb CO2 tank. Right out the box, the solenoid was faulty and does not shut off the CO2. I then waited for over 4 hours to see if the bubbles in the bubble counter would stop. It did not. I then tried uninstalling the regulator and double checking my fittings. That did not solve the problem. I have to manually turn off the bubble counter for the bubbles to stop. I did a leak test. There were no leaks. Since my aquarium is still cycling, I have no livestock except for plants. Should I continue to use this regulator, IT WILL KILL MY LIVESTOCK. The instructions are very basic and provide no problem solving. There are some grammatical errors in the instructions and the instructions provide no pictures for reference. There is an Allen Key provided but no instructions on how or where to use this tool. Obviously, the durability of this product is simply not there. The accuracy, it may be accurate but it is very difficult to determine since the solenoid is faulty right out the box. The fit is perfect. Sadly, there are videos and reviews from others that have the same issue. Since some have this problem while others do not, you purchase this product on a gamble that perhaps yours may work. *****Update******* Change 1 star to 5 star. I was able to find a YouTube video by FZone Studios that shows how to take apart the solenoid to adjust the spring. Once I followed what the video instructed, the solenoid now works perfectly. What the video recommends is to take apart the solenoid, check for dirt/dust, unscrew the 2 screws to release the plate, then check the spring and stretch the spring a little bit. Reinstall the plate and solenoid and test to see if the solenoid shuts off the CO2. Once I did this, the CO2 shuts off within 5-10 minutes as the seller stated. The product works perfectly now.

I've been doing high-tech planted tanks for nearly a decade years now. When I bought this unit, I did a lot of research to find the best balance of price, quality, and size. Now that I have the FZone, I couldn't be happier, it is exactly what I was hoping for. Overall satisfaction with product: High Impression of build quality: High Product feels very solid. There is no plastic on it. I expect it will last for years to come. Impression of Needle Valve: High I’ve used a lot of needle valves over the years, and this one is the best I’ve used. It has fine grain control over the bubble count; and once set it does not seem to drift. I appreciated the inscription showing which direction to turn; as this is a frustrating guessing game on other regulators. Impression of Regulator: High Adjustment of the regulator is straightforward. Once set; it does not seem to gain or lose output pressure. Impression of Bubble Counter: High It looks clean, professional, and exactly like what you want on your showcase tank. Reading the bubbles is straightforward and consistent. Impression of Pressure Gauge: High The gauges are large, written in psi and kg/cm2, and easy to read. Having the second 'tank' pressure gauge helps identify when the tank is getting low, that way I have the chance to refill it before it runs out. Impression of Relay: High I appreciated the quick-disconnect near the relay; as my electrical strip/outlet is not easy to access. Impression of unboxing/accessories: High The packaging is what I would expect from a high-quality product. It includes a bottle wrench; which I was happy to have when I needed it. I was also pleased to see an extra set of o-rings was included; no manufacturer thinks to do this anymore. Impression of Customer Support : Very High I have reached out to Fzone with minor issues in the past. They responded very quickly and were very personable and helped me with my issue. I was very impressed. Just try to get that kind of customer service or product quality commitment from the big guys! Overall, it’s hard to not see that FZone wants to be the best in the industry. If they continue producing products like this and supporting their customers like they did for me in the past; I believe they will achieve it quickly.

So when I first got this regulator it worked really well and I liked it then when I got my co2 tank refilled recently for whatever reason I came home to it not functioning properly and I didn’t realize it till the next day it didn’t shut my co2 off with the timer like it usually would and nuked my entire shrimp colony at first I thought it was the timer so I got a different timer when using a different timer didn’t fix it that’s when I realized the regulator was the problem so I unplugged it from the timer and it didn’t stop bubbling even with no power going to it so I started removing the hose so it can’t inject anything when I wanted it off and reattaching when I wanted it on and thought I found a solution well it stopped coming on entirely as of last week and that’s when I realized it had a 1 yr warranty since it was past the return date for Amazon so I emailed and messaged fzone on messenger to see which would be better to contact them from and they went above and beyond to help me they said they sent a replacement regulator out and even gonna send some free root tabs as a small gift and I really appreciate it I have no complaints with this company

Edit/Update 18 Jul 21: Going strong and stable. While no CO2 system hooked up to an aquarium with live critters should be called "set and forget", this one at least allows me the possibility. I've bumped the rating up a star. It has little issues, and mine did have that cosmetic chip in the bubble count chamber, but functionally this is giving me everything I needed and wanted. It is a simple matter of longevity from here, and the relative material quality gives me a good feeling that this should give me a good number of years. Original:This replaced a 9 year old Milwaukee that had its solenoid stick open overnight, causing the usual scenarios of scrambling to fix a situation gone wrong. Upsides: This unit has heft, and that's a good starting indicator for quality, the slightly higher price for comparable units seems to be invested in the materials used. Pieces were lose or had shaken in transit, but were packed well and easy to tighten up. I appreciated the additional packed o rings. The needle valve for flow adjustment is actually really nice, kinda stiff but great for making small adjustments. Installation was simple enough, but I would advise beginners watch a youtube video or something, cuz... Downsides: The instructions for installation were printed in multiple languages on a single sheet of paper, which is fine. Translation was good enough but I KNEW what they wanted in each next step, and I could see being misled by misunderstanding were that not the case. Also, it was printed very small, with giant empty spaces of white available for ticking up the font size. (I know I am getting up there in age and need to address some age related nearsightedness, but this drove the point home in an exaggerated microfiche way...) Additionally, my bubble counter chamber has a small chip on the outside, which hopefully remains cosmetic in nature. I also notice the solenoids power cord connection on this unit impinges (just barely) on a standard 20lb CO2 cylinder, preventing a true 0 and 180 degree up down installation. More like 5 and 185, but it works. Finally, despite manufacturer claims otherwise, I find the solonoid runs quite warm compared to what I am used to, nor am I used to the solenoid closing and not cutting pressure immediately... this one needs to bleed out a bit of excess over 2 or 3 minutes, which is definitely unnerving if you arent expecting it... This is a four star value normally, pending nominal continued use. I believe I can expect to get 3+ years of service out of something like this, but will be watching closely (as any C02 user probably should). My review recieves an additional mark down for the chipped bubble counter.

Very disappointed and upset with this regulator. I purchased this regulator to replace my old Doublesun regulator that has been acting up lately. Upon getting this one I was excited to put it on and get it going to have my tank getting the correct amount of co2. Well what I didn’t know is that this regulator would change the bps on its own throughout the day..I had it specifically set up to around 6-8bps and when I came home it was basically boiling water for bps and all my fish were dead..I have this tank with the regulator under the cabinet under the aquarium so there’s no way anything or anyone could have bumped into it or changed it. Being skeptical I sat in front of it while I set it the bps I wanted..I watched as it slowly decreased the rate I had it at and a few minutes later come exploding out and then slowly decrease again...there is no leaks I triple checked, it’s a brand new filled co2 tank, and it is level standing up...I highly do not recommend this regulator!!!!!! The doublesun regulator that is similar in price lasted me 3+ years before it started acting up.

Coming back to write this review after owning it for about 4 years now, and consistently run for about 3 years (roughly about two 1.5 year stretches with a 6 month storage break in a hot garage). This unit is robust and has been pretty solid and it just works. Tonight, the o-ring failed on the unit (hissing at the bottle nozzle and I felt escaping CO2 at the connection between the unit and the CO2 bottle) and I was able to very easily replace the o-ring with the included spares and get the regulator back up and running within minutes. The construction of the unit is not to blame at all, it was just likely time for the o-ring to call it quits. The included extra o-rings are just a smart choice, and the unit overall has been running for about 1.5 years straight on an 8 hour on-16 hour off cycle with it's most recent stint. The solenoid does get very warm but it doesn't seem to have affected the operation over time. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase and the quality of the regulator.

Using it for last 3 months. This is what I wanted.

I was honestly expecting issues based on some of the reviews—lots of people mentioned leaks—but that hasn’t been my experience at all. I’ve had this FZONE CO2 regulator running on my planted tank for a week now and the seal’s been completely solid. No hissing, no pressure loss, nothing. It’s holding a stable output and the fine control on the needle valve is better than I expected, especially for dialing in low bubble rates. One thing that caught me off guard is that it doesn’t come with any CO2-proof tubing. That feels like a bit of a miss. I already had some on hand from a previous setup, but if this is your first regulator, just know you’ll need to buy that separately. Not a dealbreaker, but something I wish was clearer upfront. All in all, if you’re careful with the setup and you use proper tubing, this regulator delivers. Solid build, no leaks, smooth output. I’d use it again on another tank without hesitation. Pros: – No leaks – Holds pressure well, even at low bubble rates – Solid build quality and smooth needle valve adjustment -Nice design Cons: – Doesn’t include CO2-proof tubing – Instructions could be clearer for beginners, including timing (be sure to turn off your co2 when the lights are off)

Facil y rapido de instalar lo puse junto con un atomozador de chihiros y funciona perfectamente la solenoide corta el paso del gaa en un par de minutos,solo que la presion no es regulable porque es de una etapa y al menos a mi con la botella llena me marca 100psi contacte con fzone y me dijeron que era normal y no era peligroso me contestaron enseguida
