First impression was there is a "panty hose" feel to this. My maiden form slip shorts are a lot smoother type of material. Not at all like panty hose, but they do not stay in place as well as these.It is thin, definitely not for shaping but excellent for smoothing and wearing under dresses/shirts for chafing.Pro-They don't roll down from the waist. The legs stay in place except for when sitting down-they move up but in no means bunch. Still provides excellent coverage after sitting. I do not feel the need to pull them down. Initially they are about three inches above my knee then move up a few more inches after sitting.Con- they seem to stick slightly to my cotton and stretchier skirts.**the seams on the thighs are apparent through tighter skirts.They are definitely not as smooth as a slip.But it is not noticeable. Still works fine.Overall great for chafing and just feeling covered up under a skirt. I wear these with underwear and not alone.I am 5'5 and weigh 165. I bought a large and it fits perfectly. I have longer legs and a shorter torso. (If that helps any)***Update-Unsure how, but they now have a small runner and are starting to ride up a lot more. I don't think the price is worth it as I just found a similar pair at Walmart for $8.... they are a lot more slick than these and are true slip shorts.

I've always avoided wearing skirts or dresses because of the dreaded thigh rub. I've tried Bandelettes, which are basically lacy bands that go around your thighs, but I found that those weren't as comfortable as I might have liked. So I was eager to try these Skimmies, which are basically like shorts, but made of a thinner slip-like material. And these were exactly what I was looking for. For someone more accustomed to wearing pants than skirts, the style felt super comfortable; the wide waistband is reminiscent of yoga pants and fits just right, smoothing without creating lines; the whole thing minimizes lines everywhere, though you still have to be a bit careful about wearing just any old underwear underneath; and the legs are long enough that they don't ride up. I tried the shorter version of these as well, but didn't like those as much, since the legs didn't seem to stay in place as well. Still, the longer length seems fine for pretty much any dresses that I want to wear, and I have pretty short legs.The one thing you need to be aware of is that this isn't really shapewear. It might help smooth out your stomach a little bit, but it won't really flatten it at all. On the one hand, this means that it's really comfortable; on the other hand, it means that it may not meet all of your needs. Personally, I liked these enough that I actually wore them on my wedding day, prioritizing comfort a bit over flattening. The important thing is that I was able to walk around in a dress for hours in the hot sun with absolutely no thigh trouble at all.I can't really express how happy I am to be rid of thigh rub, and with an article of clothing that's no trouble at all to wear. It feels comfortable and natural. I'm sure I'll be purchasing more of these in the future.

I wore these as a bridesmaid under my dress. I HATE dresses almost as much as I hate my bare thighs rubbing together whether I'm sweaty or not. I was mainly worried about these riding up on me or being way too short as I'm 5'10" and a size 16-18, so tall and large (and sweaty). I must say that these did the trick and it was a massive relief to have something comfortable on under that damnable dress, no matter how kind the bride was to her maids, giving us something pretty and flowy for her summer wedding. They began to ride up on the thighs slightly around 9 hours into running around, sitting, standing, and lifting things in the intense heat of the summer with me coated in sweat and sunscreen though stayed in place for at least 15 minutes after each fixing. Being the picky and fussy dresser I am, only wearing something if it is 100% comfortable, I wasn't mad at these for giving in a bit after a long day of busyness. One thing I will say is that I ordered the light colored ones and they weren't as pale as I'd hoped looking at the picture, but paler than the standard oddly-tanned-white-woman-"nude" you'd get from a randomly branded "nude" color that we're all familiar with.Overall, I love these. Good buy and I really did thank my stars for having them that day.

I'm so used to shapewear that digs and cuts into you so I went upIn size and they very super comfy but kept sliding down at the waist. I am 5'7, a 33 waist and 41 hips and 25 thighs and ordered xxl so I wouldn't have the waist too tight and the thighs squeezing but that wasn't necessary. The material looks and feels like something you would use to make your 6 year old a Halloween costume but as soon as I put these on I felt like I wasn't wearing anything! And I hate underwear! I was truly impressed! I was so disappointed when I saw that the tag said mid length because I already anticipated my legs looking like 5 pounds of Bologna in a one pound bag where the leg seems ended but nope! Didn't happen! What kinda witch craft is this!! Lol I am going to put pics upOf my legs with and without because I hate seeing great selling items with a million reviews and no pics and it's only shapers and undies that no one wants to share! Common ladies, help a girl out! I'm putting my fat flabby legs on display for the greater good of all women and so should you! 😊 Take that selfie, show and tell us what you think and delete that pic from your cell phone and iCloud before you let your significant other go through your phones! 😉 Hope this helped!

I wish I’d discovered these sooner!They prevent sticky thighs in summer & add warmth in winter. I got married in winter and wore them under my dress. Supremely comfortable and fit like a dream.

I would recommend these to anyone wearing a dress, especially during the summer. They were very comfortable and worked as expected.
